I’ve noticed that some in the West have taken to saying that Ukraine has already won the war.

I understand why they say it. But I think it’s a mistake.

First, it simply isn’t true. Yes, Russia is losing, but it has not yet lost. The war is still being fought, and Putin still believes he can win.

Second, it risks encouraging complacency at precisely the moment we should be urgently stepping up support for Ukraine and further increasing the cost of Russia’s aggression.

It’s not over until it’s over. Until then, we must not allow ourselves to rest on imaginary laurels.

Finally, someone is holding the International Olympic Committee accountable.

The IOC has spent years pretending that "neutral" status somehow separates russian athletes from the regime waging the largest war in Europe since World War II. Now, after restoring the russian Olympic Committee, it is facing consequences.

Estonia is calling on the European Commission to suspend EU funding to the IOC, arguing that sport must never become a backdoor for normalizing aggression. That's exactly right. Organizations that choose appeasement over principle should not expect European taxpayers to finance their hypocrisy.

In The Hague, we launched the Interparliamentary Group “For a Democratic Belarus” on the sidelines of the @oscepa session.

The initiative brings together 35 MPs from 17 countries: 🇸🇪 🇺🇦 🇩🇪 🇵🇱 🇱🇻 🇮🇸 🇳🇴 🇸🇮 🇨🇿 🇭🇷 🇫🇮 🇮🇹 🇲🇩 🇬🇧 🇱🇹 🇳🇱 🇩🇰.

The group in the @OSCE will coordinate support for our democratic forces and keep Belarus high on the OSCE agenda. Similar groups are now active in 22 national parliaments.

I firmly believe that a free Belarus would transform the security of our entire region. It would no longer serve as Russia’s military outpost. It would no longer pose a threat to Ukraine or the European Union.

Instead, it would become a trusted neighbor and an important contributor to European security.

There can be no normalization with the Lukashenka regime until all political prisoners are free and real democratic reforms begin.
