The PhD is a learning journey. It requires reading extensively and going through that grind. The more I am understanding how the PhD 'works' in the UK, the more I am realising it's about rushing, it's the same cog in the wheel that many of us (unknowingly) choose to escape.

Pakistanis really need to get over their obsession with women’s bodies and clothing. It’s disgusting.
Just returning from Jakarta, the capital of the country with the highest population of Muslims and women here are absolutely free to wear whatever they want. I faced ZERO harassment, no cat calling, felt way safer that I have ever felt in my own country. Really shame on you all who continue to be obsessed with our bodies and clothes. Every country whether Muslim or not feels safer than my home country and that should make you all feel some shame.

The OxBridge system of supervision is an excellent way for students to learn how to share their ideas, interpret how they understand theories but also how they question concepts, build and apply them in contexts. Phds engage with these essays, give feedback, then discuss.
