SLP tip of the day: provide parents with tools and visual aids to help with at-home/virtual learning such as first-then charts, visual timers & schedules, and reward ideas. They need these resources at home just as much as we need them in the classroom @aldinesped @SpenceAISD

SLP tip of the day: Pointing is communicating! When working with students who are nonverbal: ask a simple/concrete question, present choices (objects, pictures) and model pointing to a choice. When in doubt: model, model, model the desired response! #aldineanywhere @aldinesped

SLP tip of the day: Helping your child with a speech sound disorder and not sure how to work on it at home? Start with auditory discrimination. In order to produce a new phoneme, we must first be able to differentiate target sounds from sounds in our repertoire. #AldineAtHome

I always remember the teacher who asked me the most important question in education, “What kind of relationship do you have with the student?” This one question made me rethink every single thing I did as a school-based SLP. 👏🏻 @aldineisd teachers for building relationships!
