Question: it was after the demise of my father-in-law whom I married my wife from as islamically legislated that I got to know he wasn't her legal father because he did not marry my late mother-in-law as islamically legislated before birthing my wife.

Does it mean I have been committing Zina and my children too are illegitimate children because I did not marry my wife from the proper person?

Answer: Shaykh answered that the man hasn't been committing Zina and his children are legal children because he didn't know that the person he married his wife from wasn't who Islaam legislated.

He told him to visit any Islamic scholar who would rectify the situation by marrying her to him in the name of Islaam which is what ought to have been done at the time of marriage.

The lesson here is that, in Islaam, a man who impregnated a woman without Aqdun-nikkah (a marriage contract that establishes a valid Islamic marriage) can not marry off any daughter who arises from the Zina he committed. The responsibility of marrying off such daughters lies in the hand of Islamic scholars.

Abeg, abstain from Zina.

Aqdun-nikkah can be conducted in a room or mosque without merriment.

REDUCING YOUR AGE IS FRAUD

Seeking employment by reducing your age with a forged birth certificate is not "being smart"—it is fraud (ghish), lying (kadhib), and consuming what may not rightfully belong to you.

Allah says:

"Do not consume one another's wealth unjustly..." (Qur'an 2:188).

Every salary, promotion, and benefit built upon deliberate deception carries a serious moral burden until sincere repentance and rectification are made.

A Muslim begins every journey with truth (sidq) and trustworthiness (amanah), not forged documents. If you secure a job by falsifying your age, remember that you may have displaced someone who met the requirements honestly. Success obtained through deception may bring comfort in this world, but it can become evidence against you before Allah on the Day when no certificate, connection, or excuse will avail anyone.

Shaykh Mufti Abdul Aziz ibn Baz (1912–1999) was one of the most influential Islamic scholars of the 20th century. Born in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, he lost his eyesight completely while still a young man but devoted his life to the study and teaching of the Qur'an, Hadith, Fiqh, and Islamic creed.

He studied under leading scholars of his time and became known for his extensive knowledge, simple lifestyle, and dedication to issuing religious rulings (fatwas). Over the years, he served in several important positions, including Vice President and later President of the Islamic University of Madinah, and eventually became the Grand Mufti of Saudi Arabia and Chairman of the Permanent Committee for Scholarly Research and Fatwa.

Ibn Baz authored numerous books and treatises on Islamic theology, jurisprudence, worship, and da'wah. His lectures and fatwas reached Muslims around the world and continue to be widely studied. He emphasized adherence to the Qur'an and the authentic Sunnah according to the understanding of the early Muslim generations (Salaf).

He passed away on 13 May 1999 (27 Muharram 1420 AH) in Taif, Saudi Arabia, at the age of 86. His death was widely mourned across the Muslim world, and he remains a highly influential figure, particularly among scholars and students associated with the Salafi tradition.
