My quest to watch a Best Picture nominee from every year takes me to 1931 and The Front Page, based on the 1928 play of the same name. You can definitely tell it's based on a play because it feels rather stagey. The editing is still awkward but there's some interesting camerawork

I feel like every doubleheader the Tigers have had in the last five years have been on days where I worked, so I always had to sleep through the first game (and second, if it was a straight doubleheader). I can't remember the last time I caught both games.

I wasn't expecting to be able to use The Mandalorian and Grogu for this, but it turns out part of the story does involve poison. The movie felt like a long episode of the show, but I like the show, so I'll take it.

Last year, I read The Girl on the Train book and watched the movie with Emily Blunt. This year, I decided to check out the Indian adaptation. It's an interesting spin on it. It also diverges from the book more than the American movie does.

My original choice fell through, but I'm kind of glad because it made me remember this documentary. Not only is John Williams the greatest film composer ever, but he's almost just as integral to Star Wars as George Lucas (and Lucas has said as much).
