Artificial intelligence is being used by both big health insurance companies and hospitals simultaneously to extract the most amount of money from each patient in America

Research was done and found hospitals are suing AI that’s adds on extra billing codes for all sorts of different things commonly missed by thr doctor, to maximize profits

Example:

- Hospitals are using AI tools that scan notes, labs and visits
- Those tools flag extra “secondary” diagnoses, things like anemia or low sodium found on a lab
- That makes the patient look more medically complex on paper so it adds those codes
- Now because it’s more complex, your treatment enters a higher billing category and you’re charged more

The research found this is already being done on 70% of patients reviewed
