Who decided that corner flags are appropriate pictures for social media posts about serious or bad news in football? Let's have some imagination - maybe a 'VAR checking' notice or a picture of the stadium toilets flooded in piss or something.
My salute to the Indian pilot Captain Smit Machchhar for his extraordinary bravery.
Despite being stabbed and seriously injured, he fought back, resisted, opened the cockpit door, and enabled passengers and crew to overpower the attacker — preventing a catastrophic mid-air disaster.
He saved the lives of 174 people, including Israeli citizens and other nationals.
I wish Captain Machchhar a speedy and full recovery.
He is a true hero.
This shiny new toy syndrome lol.
This is his third season at Brighton.
If they bring him now, you people be crashing out after a loss in preseason.
Better go and sit down
Whenever Chelsea used to get a red card, Enzo Maresca would immediately sacrifice an attacker and bring on a defender. Every single time. But today, Manchester City got a red card and suddenly he had no problem keeping all the attackers on the pitch.
He was truly against Chelsea. There’s no convincing me otherwise. #MUNMCI
I have utter goosebumps. #GTAVI incorporates everything @RockstarGames have learned from past GTA games, as well as Red Dead and Max Payne. The world is full of life and absolutely stunning. There are some scenes which look straight out of a movies.
Honestly to all the developers, kudos! - this has honestly got to be one of the most incredible pieces of art to release. What a privilege it is to experience this with the community.
Is it Nov 19 yet?
soft racism has a specific form: it is being unnecessary critical or nitpicky and then when called out, say something like - “oh i am only being critical because i love your country”
how do we know if its racism vs genuine feedback?
if the person is exclusively critical or mildly patronizing every time they speak of india then you know its not in good faith
and it is hard to detect because it is not direct “i hate you” racism, it is a more subtle “i know better than you, here is a lecture” racism mixed with condescension
gullible idealistic people fall for this schtick hook line and sinker and engage with such commentary in good faith
Ok, he's off now. I don't see those clowns upstairs rejecting that money.
They'll probably feel they did a great job by using the same amount to get a replacement who probably wouldn't be ideal (deep passer, controller, dueller).
Small clubs would probably act the same way and think "that's a lot of money to ignore" and sell at an absurd price to us.
We would end up giving Man city what they want. So much for hating Maresca. Enzo would be plug and play for City while Xabi would have a new headache to get the replacement up to speed.
If Chelsea wants to maintain a reputation and those clowns are not pushovers, take this to the deadline day and tell City that the replacement wasn't available because they bid so late and fuck them up.
But nah, the SDs would end up happy making a record sale rather than thinking about how his departure affects us now and strengthens a rival who are clearly shaky.
So much for hating Maresca. We are pushovers
Strengthening City this late in the window, after they basically derailed our entire season last year, costing us European football and quite possibly a domestic trophy is extremely poor from everyone involved. Under no circumstances should we help that club and Maresca.
If this actually happens, I’ll be absolutely furious with the board. Letting Enzo Fernández go to Manchester City at this stage of the window would be a huge mistake, regardless of whether the fee is €120m or €140m.
Chelsea need to start acting like a big club for once when situations like this come up. We cannot keep allowing bigger clubs to come in late, put pressure on us and dictate the terms because they know we suddenly have to replace a key player. Look at Atlético Madrid when Barcelona came for Julián Álvarez — they made their position clear and stood their ground. That’s what I want to see from Chelsea.
And this is what frustrates me the most: you gave City a deadline to meet your demands so you could have enough time to find a proper replacement. They didn’t meet it, you said the deal was over, and now we’re still negotiating the exact same deal you said was dead. How does that make sense?
We wanted Xhaka and Sunderland, a much smaller club, stood their ground and made it clear their player wasn’t leaving. They even threatened to report us to the football authorities. Why can’t Chelsea show the same backbone?
If City genuinely want Enzo, make them pay an absolutely ridiculous price. Don’t negotiate from a position of weakness and don’t think €140m automatically makes this good business.
Because what happens next? We have to replace him with the window almost closed. Every club will know Chelsea have just received €140m and desperately need a midfielder. They’ll demand crazy money from us.
And realistically, who are we getting now that is actually close to Enzo’s quality and experience? Wharton? Scott? Someone else? We could easily spend €100m+ on a replacement who still needs time to settle.
If Enzo leaves, we don’t just lose a midfielder. We lose quality, experience and another important piece of the squad.
I really hope this is nonsense, because if we let City take Enzo now, I’ll be seriously angry with this board.
🚨🗣️ Buffon on the difference between Suzuki and Vicario:
"First of all, it's age and experience. Then there are a few other differences that I don't think are appropriate to mention publicly."
