For those who are new to following me. My research focus is Russian philosophy from the 19th and early 20th century. Specifically, existentialism, politics/ethics, and metaphysics. My doctoral research is on Lev Tolstoy and Friedrich Nietzsche.
The denial of metaphysics is still, of course, an engagement with metaphysics. Just as Nihilism, when it denies objective morality, is still participating within the field of ethics. 1/9
@MelissaJeanSays I had to ask a student one day what "capping" meant. A student of mine, I guess snapped at a classmate, and said to them "Why you capping." I had no idea what it meant.
Should I speak my students' language in my classes?
"Some might consider Nietzsche a Chud, but for me he really has Chad aura. That's why your unc professor calls him the Goat. No cap."
It is that looming shadow that follows all of us, whether we stare directly into its void or turn a blind eye and seize upon ourselves the Natural Attitude of existence. 9/9
Whether we discover the answers to these questions or not, we operate upon beliefs or ideas that give answers to these questions. Logical Positivism, no matter how much it wishes and even believes that it denies Metaphysics, Metaphysics is always within it. 8/9
Hell is real, and it exists on this earth. You can only serve one master: God or Money? Is it not funny that we put God on our currency? Whoever came up with that sick joke truly has a dark sense of humor. 4/4
A prison? Why create this Social Darwinism where we slave away? Should I be giddy to know there are people in this world with ungodly amounts of wealth, like dragons hoarding their treasure, while I struggle to buy food? This is not a Christian society. 3/4
