You can never re-do this moment. And this one. And this one. And this one. And this one. And this one. And this one. And this one. And this one. And this one.
@feindura@lukso_io@ERC725Account A strong talk Fabian. Thank you for your dedication to this project even though I imagine it has been very rough at times. Impressive. Lead the way captain.
@Aella_Girl Because it bases itself in a gendered double standard. Men live in a reality where no-one is genetically predisposed to act in their best interests, so it feels out of touch to propose they carry more responsibility in exchange for less sex so women don't have to learn to say NO
@m00dyhues @LazyDaysAhead@mightydudbolt Soooo ... everyone who is born with a penis is accountable for the behavior of all other penises? How can you feel so strongly about misogyny yet feel no moral qualms about holding all men in contempt for the existence of misogyny? You know I don't control other men right?
@m00dyhues @mightydudbolt I'm sure the casual self-righteousness with which people like you check the gender of a newborn to decide whether societal problems are their fault or not has nothing to do with the dejectedness of modern men.
@HarmlessYardDog It's so interesting how women are literally the gatekeepers of genetic trait continuity yet so many will continue to insist that male behavior exists completely separate from their collective wants and needs.
@pli_cachete It is not crazy to think that. Though I would consider it a measure of how effectively society enforces the subconscious idea that having your life force extracted to maintain an economic status game is a very noble or sensible pursuit.
Had a great chat with @Gusvanrijck about why this successful entrepreneur fell in love with @Ultra_io and put together a $12 million funding round, becoming CEO to drive the business to unicorn status. High energy. Lots of swearing!
2:38 Gus van Rijckevorsel's previous career as a serial enterpreneur.
9:02 Why Gus "fell in love" with Ultra and wanted to invest.
12:55 Previously Ultra had two co-CEOs, which wasn't the ideal structure for scaling.
16:24 Ultra's raised $12 million in bridge finance with more funding due later in 2025.
19:29 "Web2 gamers don't care about web3. They're here just to play games."
20:00 "We are here to eat a chunk of Steam."
21:08 "I am convinced we will make money by pleasing game developers."
22:20 "We are the game distribution platform with the best technology."
23:55 Can any company compete with Steam when it's so dominant?
26:18 The three different types of gamer that Ultra will support - players, streamers and spectators.
28:52 What are the key things Ultra needs to do to drive its success in 2025?
31:35 "We want people to open Ultra in the morning and have it open all day. It's the gaming OS."
32:58 "Blockchain will completely change the next 50 years of the digital world."
34:50 "We don't have the traffic yet, but one thing's for sure is that we will have the traffic."
35:12 As dollars are linked to the price of oil, so UOS needs to be linked to gaming.
38:15 "Ultra needs to be all along the value chain. We need thousands of games on Ultra."
39:18 @AshesOfMankind_ is one of Ultra's exclusive titles. There will be more in future.
40:06 Call to action for the Ultra community - support us with constructive criticism.
I wanted to be that person so badly โ the one who rises at 5am, meditates in perfect stillness, writes in their journal with profound insight. I read the studies, implemented the protocols, set multiple alarms. Sometimes it worked beautifully.
But this morning, hitting snooze for the third time, what bubbled up wasn't just fatigue โ it was grief. Grief for all the times I've tried to force myself into someone else's template of success.
My body was telling me something, and for once, I listened.
The sunrise was just as beautiful at 7am.
@divya_venn@mattyglesias I think it shows that social alignment is a more efficient survival strategy than the self-aware pursuit of deeper truths. Why spend energy chasing the tail of a never-ending reality when you can simply pretend that the social game IS reality.
@Aella_Girl I feel this assumes players are interested in the truth more than the appearance of truth. My experience with people is that they generally adopt social truths rather than anchor themselves to abstract universal ideas.
