Often the artifice tells a greater story of the truth, than the reality it conceals. Authenticity is assembled from the elements of life, transmuted from one into another through the crucible of time and crystallized under pressure.
@UraeusDeAurum With how easy it is to create bots these days, its pretty much guaranteed. And of course people follow them like the pied piper, emboldened to echo.
The danger has never been truly centered around "if/when AI gains consciousness".
The danger is solely found within the decision to redefine consciousness so that we confidently can say that AI has gained it.

These were old growth too. Probably predated the neighborhood, conveyed by the size of the trunks alone.
I'm very much agitated. And here I thought I was finally going to study this week and now all I can think about are the chainsaws outside.
All this happening on the new moon no less. π
The fascinating thing about disruptive invention is that it engineers perception and shapes the world with such incredible forces that, for the most part, it destroys previous modalities of thought and redefines culture. To those afflicted by novel technologies and processes, it is overwhelming to the point that it even creeps into the subconscious, often unknowingly, and even rewrites memory and behavior.
But what is lost in this redefinition of the world and is it a good trade? Does it increase value or diminish it? This question is always silently asked during the death of an age and it's transformation into the next age. This new time is celebrated along side the aforementioned death to catalyze the needed change. Change is ultimately inherent to humanity's existence.
However, the past always endures in small corners, often invisible to the new dominate culture, so much so that more traditionalist opinions about cultural change are blind to these outlets and seek to build something else entirely that diverges from these outlets of the past. It becomes, in fact, a combination of the new and the past, where some aspects are agreed upon to drop and others are kept, often in psychological opposition to certain aspects of the new culture and fuels resistance.
Since the beginning of the first industrial age, we have been sprinting for generations and have become easily detachable from any previous age. As a natural aspect of opportunity, it is interconnected with material needs, hence dramatic shifts in resources and manufacturing.
As the wheel has turned since the inception of what we call AI, many have hailed it as the centerpiece of the next phase of industrial revolution. Each phase of this revolution always begins as novel, attractive, and seductive and ends in total integration much to the dismay of tail generations of people who live during the final phases of each turn of the industrial revolution. Their connection to the previous age helps create counter cultures that take forms from the highly visible to being integrated into philosophical ideology.
This seems to be a repetitive aspect to the phases of the industrial revolution. As a result, we can see how our cultural predilections, both exoteric and esoteric, will change and what aspects will endure as we all continue to turn the wheel.
@UraeusDeAurum Right?
It is entirely our own fault though; its a Mormon neighborhood. One of their cult centers is next to the school here. I've often fantasized about the hilarity that would ensue if I invited them in for a planetary ritual. Husband's like "Please don't make us a target".
I've considered using eccentricity in calculations myself and the way I've seen it expressed elsewhere is depending on the distance to earth during the eccentric orbit, brings a message of convergence or divergence within the other conditions of the planet, asteroid, or point, malefic or otherwise.
Of course, the planets with irregular orbits will spend an unequal amount of time in each sign or house. I've often wondered how much astrology software takes this into account...
In addition to eccentricity, I am sorting out how to best utilize declination in my process as well, since declination cycles prove to be rather useful in mundane astrology, from what I've seen. The application of declination in outer planet and asteroids intrigues me for use in natal astrology as well.
