Sindh has 22% more beds per 1000 citizens than punjab?
I was going through the latest PBS health infrastructure data and something struck me.
With 55.7 million people, Sindh has 43,861 public hospital beds — that’s roughly 0.79 beds per 1,000 citizens. Compare that to Punjab’s 73,212 beds for 127.7 million people (0.57 per 1,000).
Despite a much smaller population, the Sindh government under the clear vision of Chairman @BBhuttoZardari is actually delivering better bed density. Add the new 600-bed tertiary hospital in Larkana and the record Rs 380 billion health budget this year, and you see the Bhutto vision in action — not just quantity, but real access for the common man.
Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto always said democracy is incomplete without social justice. Health is the ultimate test of that justice.

Karachi and MQM

In 1984, when the #MQM came into being, Karachi's Circular Railway ran 56 trains. The Karachi Transport Corporation (KTC) had 800 large buses, and Karachi University ran 120 shuttle points (buses), and the city was a "city of lights"...

Then came the 1987 local body elections, and MQM swept Karachi and Hyderabad clean. That same Farooq Sattar was handed the "contract" for Karachi in the form of the mayorship... That was the day, and this is today... Karachi is no longer Karachi...

After that —

Giant, larger-than-life posters of "بھائی ," بھائی کی سالگرہ , بھائی کی بیٹی کی سالگرہ , Bhai's tears and lamentations, kites everywhere, all of Karachi painted green, white, and red. Thirty-seven thousand workers employed in Karachi's institutions, grand plazas and marriage halls belonging to senior "comrade brothers." Businesses in Dubai and Malaysia, housing societies. And if there's one thing missing, it's water for the public... Speaking of that water — it brings to mind drowning and dying... "Playful, every color a rival at the threshold of existence.

On 12 September, Khairpur Nathan Shah came together to mark the anniversary of the MRD martyrs. The families of those who had sacrificed were present as well.

Four decades on, their presence beside the party is not ritual ,it is testimony. These families did not retreat into silence, nor did they learn to be afraid. They remained.

The gathering itself spoke to something deeper: the spirit that once drove this movement has not dimmed.

If Chairman @BBhuttoZardari were to call the people to struggle again, Khairpur Nathan Shah would not answer with eleven,it would answer with eleven hundred, men and women ready to stand for the very cause their elders once gave their lives for.

President’s Private Visit Abroad Was Entirely Self-Financed: Spokesperson

Islamabad: 12 September 2026 — Apropos reports appearing in a section of the media regarding the President’s recent private visit abroad, the Spokesperson to the President has clarified that the visit was entirely private and all expenses related to it were borne personally by President Asif Ali Zardari.

The aircraft for the visit was privately chartered by the President. All expenses relating to the aircraft, including the crew, parking and stay, as well as other associated expenses, were paid by the President himself.

Forty-three years ago today, in Khairpur Nathan Shah, eleven unarmed MRD workers gave their lives for one demand: that power belongs to the people.

They carried no weapons. They refused to bow.

Shaheed Benazir Bhutto, writing in 1983 when the night seemed endless, said it best:
"This long night of oppression cannot last indefinitely. The people cannot be crushed under boots forever. One day the banner of revolt will be raised. Whatever the cost of freedom, the people of Pakistan will pay it with their blood. We shall succeed."

After four decades we still remember them as real heroes of MRD.
