Walk the lanes before 9 AM, when it's quiet and the light is soft.

Berber families here built homes into the ground. Dig a big round pit, carve rooms into its walls, and you stay cool through the desert summer.

From Ella town, take the forest path, 20 to 30 minutes. Don't walk the tracks.
Trains cross a few times a day and often run late, so check times at Ella station.
