Sacrifice isn’t just about animals — today, let’s sacrifice pride, anger, and greed.
Eid is a reminder of restraint, forgiveness, and gratitude.
May our hearts be purer than our clothes.
Eid Mubarak. 🌙🕊️

Eid Mubarak!

May Allah make this blessed day a source of mercy, peace, and prosperity for us. May Allah accept our prayers and grant us a happy and successful life.
The recent @ReutersWorld report by @ReutersRuma named Advocate Saiful Islam as the lawyer of Chinmoy Krishna Das. Advocate Saiful Islam was tragically killed while intervening to prevent violence during a mob attack.
The report cited a police officer, Mr. Liaquat Ali, as the source of this information. However, the Chattogram Metropolitan Police has since clarified that no officer provided any statement to @ReutersWorld. This raises serious concerns about adherence to journalistic ethics.
While we hold @ReutersWorld in high regard as a reputed news organization, we urge them to address this issue transparently. Publishing reports based on unverified or falsified sources undermines trust and risks escalating tensions during this critical period for our country.
We call upon @ReutersWorld to issue a clear explanation and take responsibility for this oversight. Such incidents demand more than quiet edits—they require accountability to uphold the principles of responsible journalism.

In his 1 minute 23 seconds question to @FCDOGovUK in the UK parliament, @BobBlackman MP made five false/ inaccurate claims.
Claim 1: The "Spiritual leader of the International Society of Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON)" is under arrest.
Blackman is referring to Chinmoy Krishna Das. Yes he was arrested, but he is no ‘spiritual leader of ISKCON".
On 6 October, the International Child Protection Office of ISKCON imposed restrictions on Chimony’s involvement in the organisation’s for “child protection” issues. As a result he cannot:
- hold any management or leadership position
- give classes
- take part in public worship
- have contact with any persons under the age of 18
- have an overnight stay at the ISKON property.

Moreover, Bangladesh ISKON told reporters today that Chinmoy was "permanently removed" from the organisation in July for misconduct.

Claim 2: “Hindus across Bangladesh are being subject literally to death by their houses being burnt, their temples are being burnt.”
Since August 5th, there has NOT been a single report of a Hindu person in Bangladesh being killed due to their houses or temples being burnt.
This is an entirely false and a highly provocative statement to make.
@BobBlackman, please provide evidence of this assertion.
In fact a detailed investigation by @Netranews into claims made by the Bangladesh Hindu Buddhist Christian Unity Council, that 9 Hindus had been killed in communal attacks between 4 - 20 August 2024, found that in 7 of the 9 deths there was no evidence of a communal motive.

Claim 3: “There was an attempt today in the Bangladesh High Court to rule that Iskcon should be banned form the country”
It would have been far more accurate for Blackman to have stated that the High Court REFUSED to pass an order requiring the government to explain why it should not ban the organisation.
Claim 4: "This is a direct attack on Hindus"
What exactly is the "direct attack on Hindus"?
In fact what Blackman completely omits to mention is that on Tuesday supporters of ISKCON in Bangladesh are shown in video footage beating a muslim lawyer to death outside a court. Why did Blackman not mention that?
This murder is why there is public anger against ISKCON in Bangladesh at the moment, with some calling (wrongly in my view) for ISKCON to be banned.

Claim 5: "It cannot be acceptable that religious minorities are persecuted in this way."
He has not set out any accurate information about how religious minorities are being persecuted “in this way”.
Yes, like India, Bangladesh has for years had a communal problem. And yes, immediately after August 5th (when there was no government/law enforcement in place following the resignation of Sheikh Hasina), there were recriminatory attacks on those who supported the Awami League government (which in a three week period had just killed hundreds of protestors) and some members of the Hindu community got caught up in this, but the government has condemned it and taken protective measures to support the Hindu minority in the country.
It is extraordinary that a UK MP can be so ill-informed when asking a question in parliament. Those who know the MP should take it up with him and ask him to retract or resubmit his question.
Warm wishes on International Mother Language Day to you. 🇧🇩
Never ever stop valuing your mother language as it is something to always respect and cherish.
