UPDATE: A recap what happened in court yesterday and today.
YESTERDAY
Recall that proceedings in the case filed by the DSS against
HE Mallam Nasir El-Rufai CON resumed yesterday, 18th May 2026 at the Federal High Court Abuja.
The presiding Judge granted him bail on stern conditions following which the trial continued by 1pm after a short break.
The Prosecution called its first witness (a DSS operative) whose identity was shielded for protection.
The witness told the Court that the DSS got information that the defendant (Mallam Nasir El-Rufai) would appear on Arise TV
Prime Time Show.
He said operatives watched the programme and he later reported the outcome to his Director.
He told the Court: "I told them that there was a confessional statement where the defendant said he tapped the conversation of the National Security Adviser." He noted that his "director later reported the matter to the management of the Agency!"
The video of the said Arise Television interview was tendered in evidence without objection by the defence counsel and it was played to the court.
The video later stopped due to technical issues following which the prosecution counsel applied for an adjournment to produce a clearer version of the recording.
The judge subsequently adjourned the matter until Tuesday 19th May (today) for continuation of trial.
AT THE RESUMED HEARING TODAY
The Arise TV interview was watched and the DSS operative was examined and cross-examined.
He said their investigation which consisted of Mallam's
"confession" and the NSA's confirmation that he had the supposed conversation with the ICPC Chairman is PROOF that he was wiretapped.
No devices were examined and no IP addresses were checked for a breach.
The case has been adjourned to the 22nd and 23rd of June 2026 for the Prosecution to present its 2nd witness whom it claimed travelled to China.

Yesterday’s primary election in Kaduna North left many supporters disappointed and concerned. A process where no proper election was conducted, yet a winner was declared, raises serious questions about fairness, democracy, and the voice of the people.
To, @Abunaah Abdullaziz Kaka, your effort, dedication, and commitment to the people will never go unnoticed. Sometimes injustice may delay destiny, but it can never destroy it. Stay strong, stay focused, and continue standing for truth and the people who believe in your vision.
Kaduna North deserves transparency, justice, and credible leadership.
Our Leader Mallam Nasir El-Rufai CON has just arrived at the Kaduna State High Court for a fresh arraignment by the ICPC. Mallam remains strong and sharp despite everything. No matter what they do, he will only grow stronger. In Sha Allah, victory awaits us.

BREAKING: The Federal High Court sitting in Kaduna State has reserved its ruling on the bail application of former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai, fixing April 14 for the decision.
The court has already heard arguments from both the defense and prosecution and will deliver its verdict on the bail request at a later date after reviewing all submissions.
Notably, the scheduled date for the ruling aligns with the National Convention of the ADC, and many don't believe it's a coincidence, and also the hearing between Mallam Nasir El-Rufai and FG is scheduled for 23rd April, 2026.
It is deliberate.
Breaking News:
ICPC has again detained him and moving him to their Abuja office.
We are appalled by this development. People have come from all over to console him at Bashir El-Rufa’i’s residence in Kaduna.
