It is not always smart to be too academic about such things.
The people on the streets aren’t academic. I don’t know who said this, but “a hungry stomach knows no political science.”
You and I may see Africans accessing facilities because of political concept X, Y or Z.
But these protesters live an experience where they just see queues getting longer at their local free clinic meant for poor South Africans.
They have to wait behind 100s of people who speak languages they don’t understand.
They wait hours just to be attended to.
Then opportunists mobilise them. An easy argument to make.

They see others getting admitted in local no fee schools without meeting all the same prerequisites or producing full documents, because by law an affidavit or letter may be accepted.
Meanwhile their own children are told to bring several documents, make copies, certify papers, stand in lines, then get told the school is full.
Now they must try a further school, meaning extra transport costs.
How do they react?
You think they know about typing documents, lobbying for policy changes, writing formal complaints?
Hell no.
Most react emotionally to what is directly in front of them.
Not justifying it.
But just saying “they hate Africans” can miss the whole point.
A misdiagnosis will always lead to wrong solutions.
Sister @kimheller3 who I respect very much, it would be strange for them to suddenly target white people when many do not experience them as direct competitors in those daily public resource struggles.

I wish Bafana were playing all our group matches in Mexico man. They are getting royal treatment everywhere. Once they land in America they will be treated like criminals 😭
