Not entirely true, in all souls games there are areas with loads of enemies, or just areas that punishes you for playing fast. This is also really apparent in DS1.

How you play is up to you, the only equalizer is skill.

You can go for the risky play style and still come out on top with skill/build. Which is a constant in all souls games.

And how is kiting boring? You need to manage both your stamina and keep your eyes on multiple enemies.
