We won the SAITSA Sustainability Award & Industry Award last night!
Thank you @saitsa for this incredible honour! Our hats off to SAIT Mechanical Society for winning Club of the Year.
Thanks to the SAIT Mechanical Society for a great industry night!!! Koodos to SAIT Baja for a great presentation. We couldn’t be happier to work alongside you.
@BenMulroney And yes… bobsleds do not have concrete skis. The concrete is all about taking something that industry doesn't use & get students to work with it. It encourages sustainability & innovation More info: https://t.co/BpkbB1Bm7I, https://t.co/rp9Zaby6T8
~ SAIT GNCTR 2018
@BenMulroney P.S. Just an FYI, U of C won the fastest toboggan and the King of the Hill race. It's buddy down the Trans Canada, @SaitGnctr (Southern Alberta Institute of Technology) won the whole competition. :)
@BenMulroney - you had great questions about concrete toboggans in Jan! Just saw the video! Answers:
1) Concrete - because it makes students think outside the box and be creative
2) Each team chooses a theme and displays it loud & proud. We were Austin Powers!
Cheers, SAIT GNCTR
Last night, SAIT beat the odds and won GNCTR for the first time in 32 years. It was a huge victory for us. We couldn’t be happier — or more thankful/surprised!
2/2 All the encouragement, collaboration, support & a constructive sprinkling of mild passive aggression when deemed necessary. The commitment from the vets, rookies, and eager alumni, as well as our wicked sponsors and school, through all of this, a Tbog is born. @SAIT_SOC
1/2 From the productive meetings & perhaps less productive ones, to the late nights & early mornings. The long hours spent in the lab planning, designing, mixing, waxing, grinding, and occasionally goofing around.
