We are stressing far too much over the inaugural FIFA U-15 World Cup 2026 in Azerbaijan 🇦🇿.

Sending 14 players to compete against FIFA's 211 member nations is a great exposure trip, but it is not the benchmark for our football's future.

Here is where our focus actually needs to be:

Youth Competition: How do we give thousands of youth players (U13-17) regular, high-level match time over the next 5–7 years?

A True Pipeline: Exposure for 14 kids means nothing without a strong competitive league system bridging U-17, U-19, U-20, and U-23 levels.

Reality Check: We don't currently have a single standout prodigy in our system.

We need long-term ecosystem building, not short-term tournament anxiety. If all stakeholders in Indian football stand united behind mass youth development, not only the youth players will be shining but also the senior national team will naturally flourish.

Clubs invest far beyond just keeping their first team afloat, their impact on local football is huge. But with limited revenue streams and zero subsidies now, asking clubs to increase budgets without financial returns is unsustainable. League management must control club expenditure.

If historic clubs like Dempo SC follow Jamshedpur FC and walk away, Indian football takes another massive hit. All clubs should collectively decide the league budget on production, media, marketing and other aspects.

Clubs have to be protected from exiting the league. Those who are investing the precious money into football should be treated like a gold reserve rather than making them bleed beyond a point.

Five Muslim Students returning to Jamia area from Jantar Mantar were detained by the police near @jmiu_official and taken to the police station. Social activist Zeba Khan @zeba_kh_an and the reporter Afzal Alam @afzalalamjmi chased the police vehicle and freed all the Students.

Students came to Jantar Mantar asking questions on education, paper leaks and accountability. What followed was pure police brutality.

A woman was beaten by male officers. Students were pushed, chased and hit. Samdish himself took lathis while recording what was happening.

Even after being hit, he kept saying: this is not about media privilege. No citizen should be beaten like this in their own city.

This was the state crushing dissent in full public view.

Jantar Mantar became the place where students asked for dialogue and power answered with lathis.
