When are we going to catch up with development?” — I laugh, yet miss the point. When others are criticized, it’s called judgment; but when it involves us, suddenly it’s not a sin. Yes, we understand that some things are not sinful by definition. But leadership is not governed by what is permissible alone, it is governed by what is responsible.

If you call yourself a pastor, there are certain liberties you must be careful not to display publicly. Not because they are sinful, but because you are a leader. Do you understand how many people will copy a tattoo simply because you did it? That is the weight of influence. Leadership speaks louder than sermons.

In the same way many Pentecostals criticize Celestial or Cherubim & Seraphim churches for doctrines like polygamy, which, if we are being honest, is also not explicitly called a sin, the issue has never been legality alone. The issue is example.

Imagine someone like Pastor Oyedepo proudly posting himself drinking stout. Do you know how many followers who never drank before would instantly feel justified to start? That is how influence works. Leadership is not about personal freedom; it is about public responsibility.

The real problem is this: many want to enjoy the world and still wear the title of a pastor. But leadership has an anchor, and if you don’t understand that anchor, you will confuse liberty with license, and influence with entitlement.

True leadership is not about asking “Is it a sin?”
It is about asking “Who am I leading, and where am I leading them to?”

Nobody has the right to judge anyone. However, there is an important question believers should reflect on. The Bible says that Jesus Christ is the author and the finisher of our faith.
So the real question is this: if Jesus Christ were physically on earth today, would He draw a tattoo?
If He were walking among us now, would tattooing His body reflect His nature, His mission, and His example?
That is the question every believer should honestly think about.
