Liberty and choice. Wild and free speech absolutist. Sing. Regenerative agriculture. Raw milk. Cows eating grass sequester carbon into the soil. Free thinking.
Corruption killed the censor. Freedom walked in through the door he left open. 🇬🇧
For most of history nothing was printed in England without permission. Every book, every pamphlet, every page, read first by a man with a stamp. If he didn't like it, it didn't exist.
Then in 1695 the law came up for renewal and the Commons looked at it. Not because they believed in freedom. Because the censor was taking bribes, 1 company had the monopoly, the printing was rubbish and the books cost a fortune. So they killed the law. Then they went home.
And censorship in England simply stopped. Within 7 years London had its first daily newspaper. Then coffee houses full of people arguing about it. Then the rest of the world copying it. France took another 100 years.
Whatever you're reading this on, you're reading it because of that vote.
They teach you Magna Carta. Not why your morning paper never needed permission. A crooked censor did more for your freedom than a hundred speeches. Imagine what honest people could do on purpose.
That's what Proud Of Us is for. Nobody asked permission to print the truth. We don't ask permission to tell it. No sponsors. No ads. No agenda. No censor either. Just people like you, paying for the research, the films and the free lessons for schools. That vote is the reason a channel like this can exist at all. Nobody had to let us.
They freed the press by accident. We use it to tell Britain its own story. Nobody had to let us. No sponsor, no state, no ads. It runs on people like you. Every film comes with a free lesson for any school that wants one.
If you can, stand with us: https://t.co/rih7iKwnvf
If you can't, send this to someone who's never read a newspaper.

Rupert Lowe MP has been reported to the Parliamentary Commissioner for Standards over his “repeated rhetoric about Muslims, Islam and Pakistanis”, with the complainant accusing him of Islamophobia.
When the Government announced its Islamophobia definition — now repackaged as “anti-Muslim hostility” — it claimed that it would not have a chilling effect on free speech.
We said it would. Time and again, the Free Speech Union has been proved right.
When Nick Timothy criticised a mass public Muslim prayer event in Trafalgar Square, he was branded “Islamophobic”, reported to the Parliamentary Commissioner for Standards, called a racist by the Equalities Minister and faced calls to resign from the then Prime Minister.
Reform UK was also reported to the Equality and Human Rights Commission by 28 Labour MPs, who called the party Islamophobic and urged an investigation.
Rupert’s referral to the Commissioner is further proof that this definition is being used as an Islamic blasphemy law by the back door.
Since entering Parliament, Rupert has done brilliant work across the political divide to expose the grooming gangs scandal. Too many people have shied away from speaking about what was happening for fear of being branded Islamophobic. This is a national disgrace.
Parliamentarians, public figures, council officials and the public at large must not be silenced from speaking out about the grooming gangs scandal or Islamist extremism for fear of being branded racist.
This definition is deeply dangerous and threatens our society. People need to wake up to what it really means — and the consequences it will have.
In 1927 a British army doctor in India fed rats the diet of the English working class, and the rats ate each other.
Robert McCarrison ran the nutrition laboratory at Coonoor in the Nilgiri hills. He had spent 20 years among the peoples of northern India and had noticed that the Sikhs and the Pathans, who ate milk, butter, meat and wholemeal chapatis, were among the finest physical specimens in the Empire, and that the rice-eating peoples of the south were not.
So he fed rats the diets of the nations and watched.
The rats on the Sikh diet grew large, glossy and placid, bred well, and were free of disease. He kept over 1,000 of them for years without a single illness.
Then he fed a batch the diet of the poorer classes of England: white bread, margarine, sweetened tea, boiled cabbage and potato, tinned meat, and jam.
They stopped growing properly. Their coats went. They developed the ailments of an English industrial town, stomach and bowel disease, bad lungs, bad teeth. And their temper changed. They became nervous and vicious, bit the attendants, and turned on one another. Three were eaten so completely by their cage mates that there was nothing left to examine.
McCarrison put the photographs side by side and lectured on them in London for the rest of his life. Same rats, same cages, same country. The only difference was the food.
He called the English diet of the day a national experiment in deficiency. Nobody in the Ministry disagreed, and nobody changed the bread.
Just interviewed 61 year old female
Years of UTIs and interstitial cystitis to the point of being told she had to have her bladder removed! Also recurrent migraines up 20 per month, GERD, fibromyalgia and kidney stones
Doctors had her on multiple meds and wanted to put her on anti-depressants, recommended to focus on fruits and vegetables, avoid red meat and fat
Long ago had given up processed foods, gluten, sugar and had been on a keto diet but still having most of her issues
Finally goes carnivore, first two weeks, tough with fatigue and loose stools- within 6 months no more UTIs or bladder pain, migraines went away as well, GERD resolved and no more kidney stones
3 decades of the medical circus with effectively no improvement, goes carnivore and 30 years of disease goes away!
Flour millers say UK flour consumption is 54kg per person per year.
= 148 g per day.
Gov modelling assumed 59g per day!
That is quite a discrepancy.
We have ended up with higher dose of folic acid in our food than USA, Canada, Australia and NZ.

Thalidomide maimed and killed thousands of babies.
The underlying issue was that doctors thought they were giving one thing but it turned out they were giving another - a left handed version or a right handed version of the same molecule.
Drug safety was transformed afterwards but...
The same is true with FOLIC ACID.
They think they are giving folate (natural and good for us) but they are giving an oxidised form that is unnatural and comes with an array of adverse effects.
Even a low risk of a serious side effect is a huge problem when a drug is given to an entire population.

The most complete food in the supermarket is in a tin, costs about £1, and is bought mainly by pensioners and cats.
A tin of sardines in spring water or brine, 120g, eaten whole:
- 25g of complete protein
- Around 2g of omega-3, more than a salmon fillet
- 40% of your daily calcium, from the bones
- Vitamin D, at a level almost no other food reaches
- Vitamin B12 at 3 times the daily need
- Selenium, iodine and iron
- Mercury: almost none, because a sardine dies before it can accumulate any
It is the only animal most people will ever eat entire. Skin, spine, organs, brain. Every part the nutrition tables say is the good part, which is why the fillet on the fish counter loses.
Canning was invented for Napoleon's army. The first sardine cannery opened in Brittany in 1824, and the tin has not needed improving since. A sardine packed in 1924 was the same food it is today. There is no version of it that a laboratory could make better, which is why no laboratory has tried to sell you one.
The fish that fed the poor of Europe for 200 years is now the cheapest thing in the health aisle, and the health aisle does not know it is there.
Buy six tins. Eat one a day for a week. Then tell me what the supplement rack was for.
The amount of people out there over the age of 75 who are experiencing muscle weakness because of their inappropriately high statin dose is insane.
Most don’t even know it.
I don’t know what the heck cardiologists are thinking with their obsession over numbers, this demographic was not even studied properly in the first place.
Sad!!
The single greatest life hack ever discovered is frying bacon before every meal and cooking the meal in the grease, and I have been sitting on it for years like a coward.
The mechanics are simple. Pan on. Bacon in. Bacon out, eaten standing up as a tax. Now there is a shallow lake of salted pig fat sitting in the pan, hot, smelling like a Sunday in 1974, and whatever goes into it next is going to be the best version of itself it has ever been.
Eggs go in and come out with lace on the edges. Mince goes in and browns like it means it. A chop goes in and arrives at the table tasting of two animals, which is efficient. Mushrooms, if you're that way inclined, stop being fungus and become something you could serve a bishop.
The effects are not confined to the plate.
A man who cooks in bacon fat wakes before the alarm. His handshake improves. Dogs sit for him without being asked. His hair thickens, his eyesight sharpens, and the neighbour who has been parking across his drive since 2019 moves the car without a word being exchanged. Councils return his calls. HMRC writes to apologise.
The kitchen smells so good the postman lingers. Children who have refused eggs for six years eat four and ask what's for pudding. The pan itself, seasoned this way for a month, becomes non-stick in a way no factory has ever managed and will be fought over in the will.
I have seen marriages saved by this method. I have seen a man in Wrexham fry his steak in it and fix a limp he'd had since school. I cannot explain that one and I have stopped trying.
The bottle of oil in your cupboard has done none of this, ever, for anyone.
Bacon first. Then the meal. Then whatever comes next, which is generally good news.
"It's yet another thing the Government seems to be trying to do under our noses and think that we will not notice."
The Government is spreading misinformation about misinformation in order to justify mass censorship on social media.
The argument that mis- and disinformation is to blame for political division and unrest in society has been repeated so often that it has acquired the status of fact.
Earlier this year, the Government released a green paper called Watch This Space proposing that social media platforms should be legally obliged to promote "trustworthy" news sources to the top of users' feeds. This is primarily public broadcasters like the BBC, ITV, and Channel 4. In other words, the Government wants to control the information you see.
These proposals have been met with fierce opposition from the Trump administration and the senior US Congressman Jim Jordan, who chairs the House Judiciary Committee.
If this did not sound dystopian enough already, FSU Policy and Research Director @DavidRoseUK has written a report exposing how the Government has used dubious evidence to justify its call for mass censorship, whilst ignoring strong evidence which contradicts its claims.
It is much easier to blame the likes of Elon Musk for the political division in society. Michelle O'Neill, the Sinn Féin First Minister of Northern Ireland, held Elon Musk responsible for the riots in Belfast that followed the video of a Sudanese migrant allegedly attempting to murder a local man by repeatedly knifing him. Keir Starmer also claimed there were people "trying to interfere in our democracy and seeking to stir up division on our streets".
It seems that our political leaders fail to consider that perhaps the public are just witnessing events unfolding around them, rather than being maliciously fed misinformation?
The FSU will not allow the Government to get away with this unnoticed.

A pound of ribeye is a good dinner. A pound of brisket is the last thing you eat that day.
Same animal. Same weight. A third of the price. Different job.
The ribeye lay along the spine holding nothing up. Marbled, tender, gone in 12 minutes, and back on your mind by 9.
The brisket carried the front half of a 700 kilo animal every day of its life, and the animal wired it with collagen so it would not tear.
That collagen is why it fills you, three ways.
It has to be chewed. A ribeye is swallowed in 12 minutes. A brisket takes 30, and the brain's fullness signal runs on a 20-minute delay. You finish the ribeye before you know you are full. You finish the brisket after.
It turns to gelatin. Slow cooked, the collagen melts into a gel that sits in the stomach, holds water, and leaves slowly. Gelatin has beaten every other protein in the trials that measure how long a meal keeps you full.
It is denser. More protein per bite, less water, and a fibrous grain the gut has to work through rather than wave past.
So the rule every farmer's wife knew and every steakhouse charges you to forget: the cuts that did some work fill you longer than the cuts that did none. Brisket, shin, cheek, oxtail, chuck, neck.
They cost a third of the ribeye, because the tender crowd never learned to cook them. They carry the glycine and the gelatin the muscle meat cannot. They keep you out of the fridge until morning.
The ribeye is dinner.
The brisket is dinner, and the reason you skip breakfast.
