No. Please, no. Matiang'i failed children to block them from entering university. He was so vicious about it, he even wanted to cancel people's degrees if they had entered university based on diplomas. He imposed CBC even when we said that the new system will make children fall off a cliff at junior secondary and that the country was too broke to afford reform. And our projection came to pass.
It amazes me how confident politicians are that we won't remember anything. Our memory as Kenyans is criminally short. And shame on @KTNNewsKE . How hard is it for you to pull out the record? We're talking about less than 10 years ago.
We were arrested by plainclothes police officers and taken to Lang’ata Police Station.
The officers later informed us that CJ Maraga, being a senior citizen, was free to leave. But he refused.
Instead of securing his own freedom, he chose to stand in solidarity with those he had been arrested alongside. He made it clear that he would only leave once everyone else was released. If that did not happen, he was prepared to spend the night in the cells with us.
That moment spoke volumes about his character. True leadership is not about privilege or personal comfort—it is about standing with your people, especially in difficult times.
A great leader in my books.
A country where Maraga is arrested whereas Didmus Barasa is free is a failed nation. A nation where crooks like Duale are walking scot free whilst destroying our health system. But law abiding citizens like Maraga are arrested. What have we turned into!
Former Chief Justice David Maraga is among protesters arrested during demonstrations opposing plans to excise 75 acres of Nairobi National Park for the expansion of Bomas of Kenya's parking facilities.
BREAKING: Former Chief Justice David Maraga was arrested today alongside activists during a small protest in Nairobi against plans to excise land from Nairobi National Park for a parking lot.
Amnesty International Kenya stands in solidarity with citizens defending Nairobi National Park and the right to public participation in decisions that affect our shared environment. We want to categorically state that Nairobi National Park is not for sale; our public spaces, our environment, and our rights cannot be traded away behind closed doors. This is about more than land; it is about power, accountability, and the right of people to be heard. We stand firmly with citizens who are resisting this apparent land grab and defending both environmental justice and the right to peaceful protest. Development must never come at the cost of our rights, our heritage, or our collective future. - @hakimorara #NationalParkNotCarPark #SaveNNP
If this is why they have arrested CJ David Maraga then they are making a very big mistake.
They have just given us more reason as to why we should go for a Maraga presidency in 2027
