The fabrics we choose to put on ourselves and in our homes are important and make an impact on our longevity, and on the health of our planet and our bodies
Excited to share everything weโve been working on
8 years ago we started SAMARA. We were relentless in our search for better materials and obsessed with making a difference in the fashion industry. We sold 700k+ products and made things out of apples & castor seeds
2 years ago I became a mom and realized we needed to do more
Today, we launch our first bags made from 100% natural fibres and non-toxic dyes. Each piece is block-printed by hand at a family-run printing house in Jaipur, honouring a craft rooted in our heritage and an ancient art form deserving of celebration for generations to come
Hereโs a short recap on one of our first ever pop ups this summer in Toronto - the city that SAMARA was born
As an ecom brand, getting offline and connecting with your customers irl is the most incredible thing ๐ซ
friends in vancouver, come through for our launch party tonight between 6-10pm at 698 W 16th Ave
weโve poured our hearts into creating this space for the month and we canโt wait to share it with you ๐งก
We love our boxes and will continue to ship them, but it's just crazy to think of the irreversible things that happen when you make certain decisions
It's also much harder to undo a decision than it is to make one
When you start from scratch you tend to underestimate side effects from scale
What used to be a small decision with limited downside can now make / break entire profit margins
For instance, here's an example on how just improving packaging can trigger a butterfly effect:
- You get boxes to protect your product, but then because the box is nice, you need another box to protect the box
- Switching warehouses becomes much harder because the size of your inventory is bigger... it's literal baggage ๐
