My DHH students rocked their community field trip last Thursday. Our goals were to independently order lunch, stay within our budget and communicate effectively with cashiers β π΄
A few weeks ago, our DHH middle schoolers got to meet and socialize with other Deaf and hard of hearing kids from the SASED co-op. Being able to communicate easily with new friends was such a treat for our group! π€π» π€πΏ
My first period reading class is researching animals from Alaska. Students made posters and will present their findings on Friday. We are prepping for our new Readtopia Unit that includes reading βCall of the Wild.β πΊ ποΈ π
My second period reading class is in the middle of learning about the Holocaust. We have read about Anne Frank & we just started βThe Boy in the Striped Pajamasβ by @johnboyne. Our 8th graders will go to the Holocaust Museum in Skokie in a few weeks.
We had such a fun time on our field trip to @SunriseLakeOEC today! The weather was ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS! My students loved the paddle boats, archery, building scarecrows and fishing. Thank you SLOEC staff! π£ π π€
