The attention of "Atiku Is For The People" global movement, has been drawn to a laughable claim by the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, where he stated that the over 10 million Nigerians who received the N75,000 Conditional Cash Transfer have no mobile phone, television or social media accounts, and therefore, cannot participate in public debate to prove that they received the cash.

Yilwatda made the claim on Saturday, while speaking to Journalists, after a three-day Retreat of the APC National Executive Council, in Maiduguri, the Borno State capital.

This claim is false and exposes a massive fraud and loot.

The Federal Government's own rule contradicts him. The National Cash Transfer Office states that Beneficiaries must be on the National Social Register, and must have a verified National Identification Number, NIN, and Bank Verification Number, BVN, to qualify.

Payment is made directly by the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, into verified Bank accounts.

In Nigeria, you cannot open a Bank account, obtain A BVN, or receive a CBN alert, without a phone number. The Nigerian Communications Commission, NCC, also mandates that every SIM must be linked to a verified NIN. Every phone number is tied to a NIN, and every NIN used for payment must be tied to a phone number.

How can over 10 million people who received direct Bank transfers have no phones?

The figure is huge. 10 million Nigerians at N75,000 each is N750 billion. Nigerians have not seen any list showing names, Wards, or Local Government Areas, LGAs, of these Beneficiaries.

This is the same Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs enmeshed in the Betta Edu scandal, where N585 million was diverted, a case still under investigation by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC. The National Social Register has been flagged by Civil Society and Development Partners, for duplicated identities and fake entries.

If the 10 million Nigerians truly have no phones and no Bank accounts, how were they identified, verified and paid? If they are truly unreachable digitally, the only option is physical cash.

Disbursing N750 billion in cash to people with no identity or phones, is not social protection. It is looting.

Yilwatda stated that these people cannot challenge the government on the social media. That is the perfect cover: Beneficiaries who cannot be seen, cannot be heard, cannot confirm receipt and cannot complain.

The NCC data shows that Nigeria has over 219 million active phone lines. Even in remote villages and IDP Camps, in Borno State, where he spoke, phones are used daily for Trade and money transfers. Claiming that 10 million Nigerians have no phones in 2026, is not credible.

We demand that the Federal Government publicly publishes the full National Social Register with names, Wards and Local Governments, the CBN transaction records for the N750 billion, and allows for an independent audit by the EFCC, World Bank and Civil Society.

Until then, this N75,000 story remains a multibillion-naira looting scheme, using poor Nigerians as a cover.

The attention of "Atiku Is For The People" global movement, has been drawn to a controversy trailing the critical-Minerals Memorandum of Understanding, MOU, signed by the President Bola Tinubu administration and the United States of America, USA, Federal Government of President Donald J. Trump, on the sidelines of the 81st United Nations General Assembly, UNGA.

Recall, that on Wednesday, September 23, 2026, Nigeria and the United States signed a bilateral critical-Minerals Framework, at the Nigerian Mission House, in New York, on the margins of the UNGA 81.

The MOU was signed by Nigeria's Minister of Solid Minerals Development, Dele Alake, and United States Deputy Secretary of State, Christopher Landau.

According to official statements, the Framework is to unlock Nigeria's estimated $700 billion Solid Minerals sector, covering lithium, cobalt, gold, tin, coltan and others. It covers geological data and exploration, mineral development and processing, infrastructure and technical capacity.

No specific Mines, Companies or funding commitments, were announced at the signing, however.

The deal is now facing allegations in Washington DC.

A Senior Government Advisor and Consultant, based in Washington DC, Dr. Karl Von Batten, in a post on X, on Sunday afternoon, said exactly: "The integrity of the United States is on the line. @HouseDemocrats are openly signaling plans to investigate the @realDonaldTrump administration's critical-Minerals deals and the Officials involved in negotiating them. The @DNC is citing high corruption and pay-to-play, which, in our opinion, is ridiculous."

He added: "With #Nigerians now questioning the alleged murder of 37 young men and children by Nigerian President Bola Tinubu's (@officialABAT) Paramilitary Forces for illegally mining, and those Mines reportedly being described by Nigerian government Officials as a settlement or 'bribe' to the Trump Administration, it is essential that the @StateDept publish the signed MOU to dispel the growing accusations of corruption."

In a Facebook post titled" "MR. PRESIDENT I NEVER EXPECTED THIS FROM YOU", Dalung blasted President Tinubu for supervising and approving a new $7 billion Gateway Deep Seaport, in Ogun State Waterside, and the 10,000-hectare Ogun State Blue Marine Economic Zone, while Warri, Calabar, Rivers, Onne and Ibom Deep Seaports, continue to lie dead in the over three years of his administration.

Dalung stated that at a time when Nigerians are already accusing the President Tinubu Federal Government of Yorubanisation, the President went to Paris, France, to approve the Ogun State project, supervising the signing and assuring foreign Investors of Federal Government support.

He asked who will pay the $7 billion; noting that, it will be funded by the South-South, South-East and Northern regions. He added that the defenders will however, call it a State project, but President Tinubu's full involvement cannot be exonerated.

Moreover, many Nigerians share Dalung's worry, pointing to what they describe as the Yorubanisation of juicy positions under President Tinubu. They stated that key economic and strategic portfolios, including Finance, Central Bank of Nigeria, Customs, Blue Economy, Solid Minerals and key Agencies, are currently headed by Yorubas, while the South-South and South-East are left with less strategic Ministries.

He concluded that Lagos and Ogun States Seaports have been awarded, while the South-South and South-East Ports remain dead; warning that the Senate President, FCT Minister, and others from those regions, are watching how the All Progressives Congress, APC, treats their regions, ahead of 2027, with no pushback.

The outcry has vindicated Atiku Abubakar, the 2027 African Democratic Congress, ADC, Presidential Candidate's Strategic Plans.

Atiku had earlier unveiled a plan to decongest Lagos Ports, and revive the Eastern corridor, by restoring the Port Harcourt, Calabar and Warri Ports, and advancing the Uyo Deep Sea Port. He revealed that he had engaged with Shippers in Europe, on developing the South-South and South-East Ports, for balance and ease.

He explained that a container from Calabar or Port Harcourt, can reach Yola, in 24 hours, while from Lagos, it takes two months, due to the distance and bad roads.

According to Atiku, reviving those Ports will cut costs, create jobs, boost trade between the South-South, South-East and Northern regions, and decongest the Lagos Ports.

While Atiku plans Maritime equity for all Nigerians' benefit, President Tinubu plans Yorubanisation. Nigerians are watching.

Emerging report reaching "Atiku Is For The People" global movement, on Sunday, indicates that outrage has erupted across Nigeria, on the social media, after former President Goodluck Jonathan's warning at the 80th birthday anniversary of a former Attorney-General of the Federation, AGF, Kanu Agabi, SAN.

At the birthday Lecture, in Abuja, last week, Jonathan warned Politicians to stop hiding criminality under politics.

He had said: "People do stupid things, also even criminal things, and they will tell you it is politics. It is not politics. Politics has rules." Jonathan likened politics to a football match, and warned that winning an election does not make illegality legal.

The reaction was instant and furious. On Facebook, a Nigerian reacted bluntly: "If any election is rigged this coming year, all INEC offices will be burnt down."

While "Atiku Is For The People" global movement does not support violence, this threat shows the level of anger and distrust Nigerians now have for the Electoral system under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, ahead of the 2027 Presidential election.

Many linked the anger to a statement President Tinubu reportedly made some months ago, when the Catholic Bishops Conference of Nigeria, CBCN, visited him, at the Aso Rock Presidential Villa, in Abuja. The Bishops had told the President about hunger, hardship and fears about the 2027 elections. According to Cardinal John Onaiyekan who disclosed the details on Arise Television, the President reacted, saying: "All is fair in politics."

Nigerians are now asking: If all is fair in politics, does it mean rigging, vote-buying, and PVC manipulation, are fair?

This is why the outrage over the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, is growing as the 2027 general elections fast approach. In recent months, INEC's actions have reinforced public perception of partisanship towards the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC.

During the Ekiti State Governorship election, the Democratic Integrity Forum accused INEC Officials of colluding with the APC to transfer about 400,000 uncollected PVCs to the ruling party.

The African Democratic Congress, ADC, has also accused INEC under its Chairman, Prof. Joash Amupitan, of acting as an extension of the APC. The ADC raised an alarm that INEC engaged the NURTW Faction, led by MC Oluomo, a known APC Loyalist, for election logistics.

Some weeks ago, over 600 Lecturers who could be recruited as Returning Officers in the 2027 elections, openly declared support for President Tinubu's 2027 re-election, in Kaduna State. INEC only said that it will look into it, when forced by Nigerians to react.

For many Nigerians, this is proof that the Umpire is not neutral. As one viral post read: "We suffered fuel from N200 to N1500, we suffered hunger, you want to rig 2027 again to keep us in suffering?"

Nigerians see the 2027 general elections, especially the Presidential election, as a battle for survival. Politics has Rules. If INEC, the Security Agencies and the Courts, fail to uphold them, the Nigerian people will believe that they have no other option, but to defend their votes and Nigeria's democracy.

Sources within the Presidency, now say that the President is expected back on Tuesday, arriving in Lagos.

The change comes after the State House said last Monday, that President Tinubu had extended his working vacation in Europe, by a few days, and would return at the weekend.

President Tinubu left Nigeria on August 30, for London, before travelling to Paris, where he met with French President, Emmanuel Macron.

As at the time of this report, there is still no official statement confirming the new Tuesday return date, or the planned arrival in Lagos.

Insiders say that the President is afraid to return to face angry Nigerians, who are determined to vote him out in 2027.

Nigerians are angry over unprecedented hardship. Since the removal of fuel subsidy without proper cushioning, pump price has jumped from N197 to over N1,500, cost of living has tripled, naira has collapsed, food inflation has pushed a bag of rice beyond the reach of ordinary families, and small businesses are shutting down daily.

Nigerians are angry over corruption. They see billions of naira announced for Seaports, Coastal Highways, and Renovations, while Hospitals have no drugs, Schools have no chairs, and Workers' wages cannot afford food.

Nigerians argue that Contracts are inflated, that Crude Oil theft continues unchecked, and that anti-corruption Agencies have gone silent on big political cases.

Nigerians are angry over insecurity, with killings and kidnappings still rampant across the North, Middle Belt and South-East, while the government appears more focused on 2027 politics, than protecting lives.

Nigerians are angry that Warri, Calabar, Port Harcourt, Onne and Ibom Deep Seaports, that could create jobs and decongest Lagos Sea Port, are left dead, while a new $7 billion Port is being approved in Ogun State Waterside.

These are why Nigerians are determined to vote President Tinubu out, and are waiting to confront him.

The attention of "Atiku Is For The People" global movement, has been drawn to the statement by the 2027 Presidential Candidate of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, as reported by Daily Trust, in the article titled: Hardship: "Apologise, then leave the stage, Atiku tells Tinubu".

Atiku has simply echoed what every Nigerian home is feeling.

Nigerians were asked to sacrifice by the President Bola Tinubu administration, since May 29, 2023. Fuel subsidy was removed, the naira was devalued, and electricity and transportation costs rose sharply. The Federal Government celebrated that revenue had increased. Yet, borrowing continued at an alarming rate. Atiku rightly asked what the sacrifices of Nigerians actually brought.

The data from the Debt Management Office, DMO, confirms the alarm. In March 2023, two months before President Tinubu assumed Office, Nigeria's total public debt stood at N49.85 trillion. By June 2023, after the unification of the exchange rate and the securitisation of Ways and Means loans, it was recorded at N87.38 trillion. By June 2026, the same debt has reached N166.79 trillion. That is an addition of N116.94 trillion under the President Tinubu administration. In dollar terms, Nigeria's external debt alone rose from $42.49 billion in December 2023, to over $54.52 billion by June 2026, despite claims of reduction.

The burden of this debt is the reason there is no relief for the common Nigerian. President Tinubu himself admitted at the Africa Forward Summit, in Nairobi, Kenya, in May 2026, that Nigeria will spend about $11.6 billion on debt service in 2026 alone, nearly half of the projected revenue. In the first quarter of 2026, the country spent N3.14 trillion just to service domestic debt, a 20.3 percent increase year on year, with 95 percent of that amount going to interest payments alone. In 2025, total debt service was about N16 trillion, in some months consuming over 100 percent of the Federal revenue.

Atiku described the result as two Nigerians. One Nigerian exists in government presentations where the revenue is up. The other is the real Nigerian, that exists where food is unaffordable, transport fares have tripled, School fees are out of reach, small businesses are shutting down.

It is therefore, provocative that while the country groans under debt, hunger, inflation and insecurity, the President Tinubu administration appears more focused on warehousing billions of naira for vote-buying, ahead of the 2027 Presidential election, instead of investing the fuel subsidy savings to make life affordable for ordinary Nigerians.

As Atiku demanded, the President Tinubu Federal Government must reconcile the borrowing, explain the charges, show Nigerians what their sacrifices brought, apologise to the families pushed into more extreme hardship, and leave the stage for those ready to restore affordability.

The "behind the scene" plot by the 2027 Presidential Candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress, NDC, Peter Obi, and his running mate, Rabiu Kwankwaso, to ensure the victory of President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 Presidential election, against the wishes of ordinary Nigerians, has been exposed and seriously kicked against.

The anti-people move was exposed by a Lawyer and Human Rights Activist, Deji Adeyanju, who alleged that Peter Obi and Kwankwaso are helping President Tinubu, by remaining in the opposition field to divide the votes, rather than supporting a unified 2027 Presidential Candidate.

“Peter Obi and Kwankwaso are working for Tinubu like they did in 2023. Do not waste your votes again on them like 2023. A vote for them is a vote for Bola Tinubu and the APC. They know exactly what they are doing”, Adeyanju seriously warned in a Facebook post, on Saturday morning.

Against the wishes of the Nigerian people, President Tinubu emerged winner in the 2023 Presidential election, leaving the now 2027 Presidential Candidate of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, in second position, and Obi in third position. Nigerians are cautioned not to allow this happen in 2027.

According to the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, Obi secured 6,101,533 votes, while Kwankwaso polled 1,496,687 votes. Atiku received 6,984,520 votes, while President Tinubu won the election with 8,794,726 votes.

Combined, Obi and Kwankwaso therefore, secured 7,598,220 votes, more than the margin between President Tinubu and Atiku, which stood at 1,810,206 votes.

The figures provide the numerical basis for the arguments that opposition fragmentation could significantly affect the outcome of another closely contested Presidential election.

Nigerians have therefore, been warned to desist from voting for Peter Obi and his NDC in the 2027 Presidential election, especially millions of ordinary Nigerians who are really tired of the pains and sufferings they are experiencing under the President Tinubu administration.

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has admitted to Nigerians that his first term in Office has been a complete failure so far, while desperately begging Nigerians to give his administration another chance, in a bid to solely get gullible Nigerians to vote for him in the 2027 Presidential election.

The President spoke through the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Tajudeen Abbas, at a National Mosque prayer session.

“Allow me to finish the work” nobody can see or feel, is therefore, not the confident declaration of a government celebrating its massive success of over three years in Office. It is the plea of an administration asking the citizens to extend the deadline on promises that remain unfulfilled, with no guarantee or trust built, to ensure that such plea is even considered.

What that statement means, is that the President Tinubu administration has now admitted to the consequences of its own policies, including the removal of fuel subsidy, with no plan put in place to protect ordinary Nigerians; the sharp and reckless weakening of the naira; rising cost of living; worsening insecurity; and other reforms that have imposed severe sacrifices on ordinary Nigerians, without delivering corresponding relief for over three years.

On Electricity, millions of Nigerian homes and businesses continue to struggle with unreliable power supply and the highest tariffs under President Tinubu; forcing Households, Manufacturers, Factories and Small Businesses, to depend on expensive petrol and diesel generators.

On petrol, the price of fuel has risen to about ₦1,450 per litre, in Lagos and Abuja, with some Northern States recording prices as high as ₦1,500; while diesel has exceeded ₦2,000 per litre. These increases have raised transport, production and food-distribution costs, across the country, with no care from the President Tinubu administration.

The naira’s depreciation has also reduced the purchasing power of Nigerian Workers and families. Reuters reported an exchange rate of about ₦1,329 to the dollar, in September 2026, while the continuing weakness of the currency has made imported goods, medicines, machinery and raw materials, more expensive. The result is an economy in which salaries may be paid in naira, but many essential costs are shaped by the dollar.

Even the ₦70,000 Minimum Wage introduced in 2024, has been overwhelmed by the very high cost of living, with reports showing that basic food items remain far more expensive than before President Tinubu assumed Office.

Food prices provide the clearest evidence of the President Tinubu administration’s failure to translate its promises into daily reality for ordinary Nigerians. Reports indicate that a tuber of yam that sold for about ₦800 in 2023, now costs as much as ₦5,000 in 2026, while a paint bucket of garri that once sold for roughly ₦500, now costs more than ₦2,000, in some locations. Rice has also reached between ₦7,000 and ₦8,000 per small paint bucket. Food inflation remained 19.57 percent in August, according to Reuters, despite a slight reduction in the headline inflation rate.

Security is another area where the claim of returning peace remains difficult for many Nigerians to recognise. Communities continue to face attacks, kidnapping, banditry and displacements; while families live with the fear that roads, Farms and Villages, are no longer safe, under President Tinubu.

This means that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's administration borrowed N7.44 trillion in just 90 days.

The figures from the Debt Management Office, DMO, released on Friday night, showed that Nigeria's debt moved from N159.35 trillion on March 31, 2026, to N166.79 trillion on June 30, 2026.

That is an average of N82.6 billion per day, N3.4 billion per hour, and N57 million per minute, between April and June 2026.

With an estimated population of 220 million, every Nigerian now owes about N758,000, including a newborn baby delivered this morning.

According to the DMO: "Nigeria's total public debt stock rose to N166.79 trillion, as of June 30, 2026, from N159.35 trillion as of March 31, 2026, with domestic debt accounting for N91.59 trillion, or 54.91 percent of the total debt portfolio."

The DMO put the total debt in dollar terms at $120.93 billion; comprising of $54.52 billion external and $66.41 billion domestic, converted at N1,379.1842 per dollar.

The President Tinubu Federal Government holds the bulk. The DMO stated that the Federal Government accounts for the largest share of both domestic and external debts, with its obligations making up most of the portfolio.

The Federal Government external debt stands at N65.77 trillion, while the States and Federal Capital Territory, FCT, external debt stands at N9.42 trillion. The Federal Government domestic debt stands at N87.00 trillion, while the States and FCT domestic debt stands at N4.59 trillion.

In total, the Federal Government holds N152.77 trillion, while all 36 States and the FCT combined, hold N14.01 trillion.

Servicing the debt is already consuming huge resources. In Q2 2026 alone, Nigeria spent N2.14 trillion on domestic debt service.

The DMO said: "Interest and rental payments accounted for N1.98 trillion of the Q2 total, while principal repayments stood at N164.28 billion."

It added that the interest on Federal Government Bonds alone reached N1.39 trillion. The government paid N530.84 billion in April, N332.49 billion in May, and N525.05 billion in June, as Bond interest.

This has direct consequences for the common man.

With government borrowing N87 trillion domestically, Banks now prefer lending to the government, than to Traders, Farmers and small Shop Owners. The interest rates for small businesses remains above 30 percent.

For families in Jos, Kano and Onitsha, it means higher taxes ahead. From October 1, 2026, tax defaulters will pay an interest linked to the Central Bank of Nigeria's, CBN, 26.5 percent Monetary Policy Rate, MPR. The extra cost will be added to everyday goods.

The President Tinubu Federal Government points to foreign reserves rising to $54.61 billion, and a current account surplus of $7.54 billion in Q2.

According to the APM: "President Tinubu runs a lethargic administration, and most of the times absent from the theatre of governance. He is completely disconnected from Nigerians.”

The opposition party also condemned the President's absence from the 81st United Nations General Assembly, UNGA, in New York, where Vice President Kashim Shettima represented him and delivered Nigeria’s national statement, on Thursday.

"Mr. President’s repeated absence at meetings of World Leaders, particularly the United Nations General Assembly, UNGA, also underscores his inability to effectively represent, propagate and drive Nigeria’s interest at the global level, where he was expected to engage in high-level Diplomatic discussions on matters affecting our nation”, the statement added.

The final results of the online contest, titled: "TMG Poll Final Result - Presidential Preference Consultation", was released on September 25, 2026, in a live broadcast, from Kano. According to the TMG movement, the poll recorded a total of 109,799 valid votes, across its platforms.

Atiku Abubakar, alongside Rotimi Amaechi as his running mate, polled 80,809 votes, representing 73.6 percent of total votes cast. Peter Obi of the Nigeria Democratic Congress, NDC, with Rabiu Kwankwaso as his running mate, secured 24,519 votes, representing 22.3 percent of the total votes. Other Candidates, including President Bola Tinubu, and undecided voters, polled 4,471 votes, representing 4.1 percent of the total votes, coming a distant third.

The results show that Atiku defeated Peter Obi with a wide margin of 51.3 percentage points, equivalent to 56,290 votes; a development that has thrown the Obidient camp and Kwankwasiyya Supporters into mourning, while All Progressives Congress, APC, Loyalists expressed shock at their Leader's distant third position.

According to Atiku's Supporters who reacted on Facebook shortly after the declaration, the poll has confirmed that Northern voters have rejected Peter Obi's 2027 Candidacy, and have also rejected President Tinubu's re-election bid. Many Obidients were seen lamenting on the outcome of the poll in comment sections, while members of the Kwankwasiyya movement expressed disappointment that their alliance with Peter Obi failed to gain traction as far as the poll was concerned.

Recall, that the Tinubu Must Go movement, first announced on September 17, 2026, that it would conduct its own poll to adopt a single consensus Candidate, if Atiku, Obi and Kwankwaso, failed to unite. On September 22, 2026, Barrister Hikima wrote to the Opposition Leaders, urging them to set aside their personal ambitions and form a united front.

We condemn this very insensitive statement in its entirety. It is false, ignorant, and an insult to millions of Nigerians struggling to survive under the President Tinubu administration.

Since Governor Okpebholo made the claim at the Operation Rescue Benin-Asaba Road event, on Thursday, where he said that he visited London, last week, to compare fuel prices, millions of Nigerians have threatened to deal with him politically, and punish him at the ballot, for mocking their sufferings.

The Governor converted and compared the fuel price, but refused to convert and compare the income and benefits.

In the UK, the National Living Wage is £12.21 per hour. A Worker on minimum wage earns about £97 per day, over N170,000, and about £2,100 per month, over N3.6 million. A UK Worker uses less than 2 percent of his daily wage to buy one litre of fuel at £1.72.

However, in Nigeria, under President Tinubu, the Minimum Wage is N70,000, for a whole month. A Nigerian Worker needs 2 percent of his entire monthly salary to buy one litre of fuel at N1,450. To fill a 40-litre tank, he needs N56,000, which is 80 percent of his monthly wage.

That is not enjoyment. That is punishment.

More importantly, in the UK, where petrol is N3,000, Education is free, Healthcare under the National Health Service is free, Electricity is constant, Water runs, Public Transport works, and the Unemployed get Universal Credit and Housing support. When fuel prices rise, the government pays winter fuel allowance and cost-of-living support.

In Nigeria, after paying N1,450 for a litre of fuel, the citizens still pay School fees, Hospital bills, Generator diesel, and still ply the failed Benin-Asaba road, the Governor is now celebrating federal patching for.

In the UK, fuel tax returns as service. In Nigeria, fuel subsidy removal moved petrol from N195 to N1,450, and the proceeds are looted into waste and luxury for top Government Officials.

Governor Okpebholo owes Nigerians an apology. Nigerians are not enjoying. Nigerians are enduring.

If the Edo State Governor wants to use the UK as his standard, he should first give the people of his State the UK Minimum Wage, UK Schools, UK Hospitals and UK Electricity, before giving them UK petrol price propaganda.

He said: “In politics, it is a disaster. People do stupid things, also even criminal things, and they will tell you it is politics. It is not politics. Politics has rules.”

Jonathan's remarks have affirmed the continuing political concerns over alleged manipulation of Institutions, abuse of State power, electoral inducements and other practices, that critics say are often defended as normal political strategy in Nigerian politics.

The message may therefore, be read as a direct challenge to President Tinubu and his Political Allies, as well as to Politicians across party lines, who excuse intimidation, betrayal, corruption, or the abuse of public Institutions, on the grounds that “politics is a game”.

Former President Jonathan’s position is that political ambition cannot legitimise conducts that violate the Laws, or undermines democratic standards.

The warning comes at a time when the ruling party and its Allies are facing criticism over alleged attempts to weaken opposition parties, encourage political defections, and use the influence of government to secure electoral advantage, ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Critics say that such practices are often defended as ordinary politics, even when they raise questions about institutional neutrality, democratic fairness and the proper use of public power.

“You play according to the rules, and that is why the Courts starts to mediate, if you go against the rules. Otherwise, you can do anything and win an election and walk away”, Jonathan further stated.

Against that background, the former President's warning carries a broader weight: Winning an election cannot be treated as a licence to break the rules, and political success cannot permanently shield wrongdoing from public judgement or legal accountability.

The World Leaders came to hear Nigeria's President, but got a very nervous Vice, with a handout. It tells you everything. A President who chooses vacation in Paris, over the biggest Diplomatic stage in the world, does not take his country or the world seriously.

There was no substance, only recycled clichés about restoring trust and reforming the Security Council; the lines Nigeria has repeated at the UNGA since 2005. What is new? What has this government achieved? Just empty grammar that means nothing to the Nigerian woman who cannot afford rice.

The Vice President preached peace and dialogue abroad, but said nothing about the bloodbath in Benue, Plateau and Zamfara States. He begged for Climate finance, but ignored the floods sacking Mokwa, in Niger State, and Maiduguri, in Borno State. He spoke about Artificial Intelligence, AI, while 140 million Nigerians cannot afford data or electricity.

A good speech connects global ideals to home realities. Vice President Shettima's speech floated in the air. There was no Nigeria in it.

The fear on his face was unmistakable. Many Nigerians on the livestream noticed how hurried and unsettled he looked. Maybe he was afraid the World Leaders would ask him where his President is, and why he is on holiday, while his country burns.

Among those who moved with Jegede into the ADC, were a former member of the PDP Board of Trustees, Chief Segun Adegoke, serving PDP Chairmen in Ondo West and Owo Local Government Areas, Prince Demola Adeyemi, as well as former Political Office holders, Lawmakers, Local Government and Ward Executives, alongside Polling-Unit structures of the PDP, across the State.

Speaking at the mammoth rally, Atiku sent a dangerous signal to President Tinubu and the entire All Progressives Congress, APC, declaring that the ruling party has destroyed Nigeria's economy and must be voted out in 2027.

His exact words: "This is not a Campaign rally; this is a welcome rally. We are going to come back for a Campaign rally. We will let you know what ADC is going to do for you, for your future and next generations of Nigerians.

"Of course, we have started releasing teasers. We are committed to returning subsidy. Secondly, we are committed to returning security to all over this country. No part of this country will feel insecure anymore."

Atiku also tackled the APC over the state of the economy, contrasting it with the economic boom recorded between 1999 and 2007, when he was Vice President and Head of the Economic Team.

He stated: "Of course, you know what we did between 1999 and 2007. We took Nigeria to the best economy in Africa. Today, we are number five. The APC is responsible for taking us down.

"Is it not APC? So, the best thing for us is to vote them out. There is this popular saying now, which is that APC must go! Tinubu must go!"

In his remarks, Eyitayo Jegede said that all PDP members loyal to him have moved to the ADC, urging his supporters to get their PVCs and mobilise at the grassroots for Atiku.

He stated: "All the PDP members loyal to me have moved to ADC. We are going to let everyone know that ADC is the boss when we vote."

The massive turnout in Ondo State is being seen as a strong signal that the ADC is gaining ground and poses a serious threat to the APC, ahead of the 2027 Presidential election.
