In January Labour voted in favour of amending Section 7 of the Public Order Act 2023, designating UK life sciences facilities as key national infrastructure, extending police powers to act against “disruptive protest activity”, including social media posts or emails, that oppose the use of animals in scientific research.
I voted against it.
MBR Acres is a highly controversial Hone Office licensed beagle breeding facility in my constituency.
Because of Labour’s draconian new law campaigning against beagle breeding on social media now gets you a knock on the door from the police.
A peaceful evening of love and compassion in memory of all the beagles within MBR Acres, those now at UK toxicology labs and those who lost their lives ❤️💔

Saturday morning. All the staff have left in this vehicle. Leaving only the Security on site. There is now no one to check on over 1,000 beagles, pregnant mothers or puppies. But that’s OK the Govt did an announced visit on 10 July. We are still having a heatwave. ‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️

@KarlTurnerMP I spoke to you 2 weeks ago on LBC about the over 1,000 beagles at MBR Acres Cambridgeshire where the external building temperatures are 46 degrees. You said you would text Andy once you finished your show. I believe you are a man of your word. Can we have an update
Brazil's President Bolsonaro has signed a new law that increases penalties for those who mistreat pets. Direct witness of the ratification: his dog. Now those who harm cats and dogs face 24 months in prison, a hefty fine and the absolute ban on adopting other animals.🐾
This is disgusting how can this be right? All in the name of science. Please go cruelty free for household products to stop this torture
