As we head into July, there will be some significant changes to Virginia's laws. With about 1,100 bills passed, we made changes to improve affordability, keep our communities safe, and set up Virginians for success ๐ Check out all the changes here: https://t.co/uzadC8igmu

Our schools have over $25 billion in needs. Localities will soon have the option of a 1% sales tax dedicated to improving our schools. While this will not address all school construction needs, it gives localities another tool in their toolbox. All Virginia students deserve schools that are safe and well maintained.

As we approach another hot weekend, local cooling centers are open and available for anyone seeking relief from extreme temperatures. Stop by any of our libraries for a break from the heat.
Brain health is just as important as physical health ๐ง @AARPva hosted an amazing event at the Harrison Museum of African American Culture with engaging activities focused on movement, stress relief, social connection, and steps folks can use daily to improve brain health.
Hard to imaging a better way to spend a Tuesday night than watching a bunch of establishment, corporate & AIPAC backed Dems get destroyed.
If this isnโt the Dem tea party I donโt know what is.
The Independent Int'l Commission of Inquiry on the Occupied Palestinian Territory presents new report to the UN Human Rights Council.
"The evidence shows that Palestinian children have been deliberately targeted & killed by the Israeli security forces."

An optional 1% sales tax for localities is a necessary tool to support our schools. This funding will allow us to make needed repairs to aging schools, and, at a time when money is tight, it will generate revenue that will be used exclusively to improve the quality of educational buildings for our students.
Our kids struggle when our schools aren't at their best, this includes school infrastructure. I am glad to see that after years of work, we have finally passed this opportunity for our localities through the budget.

โญ๏ธ Israelโs far right National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir responds to Vice President JD Vance: โFor every tear shed by an Israeli mother, a thousand Lebanese mothers should cry. All of Lebanon should burn.โ
He writes:
โWith all due respect to the Americans, Israel must make it clear to the entire world that the blood of our sons and the security of our citizens are not up for grabs. All of Lebanon should burn. Our highest duty is to protect Israelโs citizens and IDF soldiers, and that commitment comes before any other consideration.
I tell the Prime Minister, including in our meetings: for every tear shed by an Israeli mother, a thousand Lebanese mothers should cry.
Enough with the ping-pong. In the Middle East, you do not win through measured responses and restraint. You have to go crazy. Erase. Defeat terrorism.โ
@The_Black_Lash That's part of why we are upset. This proposed data center uses old generation technology and will use 2 to 8 million gallons of water a day per data center. We are getting screwed.
Our drinking water cannot be for sale. As drought conditions become more frequent, this project is a burden on our regional resources. We have to stand up and say no to data centers!

Dr. White has been a steady and valued leader for our schools over the years. Coming in at the height of the COVID epidemic, she ensured our nearly 15,000 students were set up for success in the wake of chaos. Dr. White has stepped up to challenges during her tenure, persevering and fighting for our students every step of the way, even as she faces unnecessary resistance from Roanoke City's leadership. Thank you for your service.
