@11011010110x@cchisenhall@TheInsiderPaper A much better comparison would be the iPhone camera footage from Fram2 and Artemis 2. In that sense, we've come a long way in the past 30 years.
@11011010110x@cchisenhall@TheInsiderPaper This picture is from a digital camera, though. Not a corona satellite. I wouldn't be surprised if the NSA was reading license plates from orbit in 96
@peterrhague@Dr_M_Davis@SpaceX@SpaceXSH Respectfully, Peter, the best part is no part. When I watch the Chinese catch, I see an insane number of moving parts that have to work together perfectly. This thing will corrode much faster than they expect.
@MirrorSharder@ShepJoel Steel cables, gearboxes and salt water are not a good combo. SpaceX had 10 years of experience with a far less complex droneship before pivoting to an RTLS tower catch.
I would be surprised if they get 3 catches out of this ship before it needs extensive repairs.
@Constitutioncru@japan_nobunaga Oh shit, don’t ask me to pronounce it. I-dio-lect or Id-eo-lect? Your guess is as good as mine. I have to think that’s intentional
@amyjo80@VWAPJesus@kaitlancollins Absorbs kinetic energy and deflects the falling object. Super common in amusement parks where roller coasters pass overhead.
@OldVetvp I like to order Uber Eats and then fall asleep naked with my front door slightly ajar. Drivers can’t resist snapping a pic and I get an Uber credit for the price of the meal. Sometimes more if the jury is sympathetic
