I request everyone not to share videos of late Group Captain Asim Tariq, husband of my dear friend Reema Shaukat, from crime scene.

Once shared, digital footprints remain forever and it is very painful for his family, friends & loved ones to come across such videos.

No family should have to relive such an unimaginable loss through images or videos that will continue to exist online forever.

Please choose compassion over curiosity. Allow family dignity and privacy to grieve and don't make this heartbreaking tragedy more difficult by circulating these distressing videos.

May he rest in peace and may his family find strength during this unimaginably difficult time. Ameen

I spoke to yet another batch of young police officers. It’s been 15 years or more since I’ve been trying to understand practices like Swara, Vani, and Sang Chatti.
It hasn’t been easy, but over the years, I’ve met brave fathers in remote villages who stand up against harmful practices and choose their daughters’ lives over the pressure of jirgas or panchayats. I’ve also seen police officers go out of their way despite challenges and pressures to do what’s right.

It’s these small moments of hope that keep us going.
