Really good to join you guys yesterday, even if it started out really cold and chilly! The day went well and I chatted to quite a few young people and even got the chance to meet some of the resident animals!
Although I didn't get any of the animals to register to vote!

@NCS My favourite part has been engaging with the young people and getting them talking about why its important to have a say in their future, why they should register to vote. Through activities we got thinking about how their everyday lives are affected by government decisions.

Session went really well today and it was good to work with @Cyouthcic Youth and Serena, Theo and Tania. Also a big thank you to Luc from the Active Citizens team at Kirklees. Our mayor Mahsood very kindly got involved with the activities including 'Show me the Money'

BASICALLY, EVERY YEAR THE COUNCIL *HAS* TO CONTACT YOU ABOUT WHO IS REGISTERED TO VOTE AT YOUR ADDRESS, AND IF YOU DON'T ANSWER THEM THEY EVENTUALLY HAVE TO SEND SOMEONE TO KNOCK ON YOUR DOOR TO ASK YOU. GIVE THEM A SHOUT IF YOU HAVEN'T ALREADY.

[Mirfield College @MirfieldCollege]

Good Luck to all Year 11 students who are collecting their GCSE results today. We look forward to seeing you at your Enrolment appointment later on today

[Sam Atkinson KIRKLEES COUNCIL @SamAtkinson6]

Well done to you all and the very best for your futures! 👏👏👏
