1 year ago today, a Reddit post changed my life
I had just spent the last of my life savings (forreal) to build my first app, because I desperately wanted something us football sickos could play every day of the year
The game was a huge hit with the few people who actually played it, but I had $0 left for marketing and no idea how to spread the word beyond my friends and family
On a whim, I posted about the game on r/fantasyfootball hoping to get a few new players. Beyond my wildest expectations, the post spread to 1.7 MILLION people (!!!) and thousands of fellow NFL addicts tried out the game and started telling their friends
I consider that post to be the start of the incredible @Griddy_FF community that exists today. I still constantly meet people who discovered Griddy from that OG post last November and are still playing to this day. Hard to believe it's been a year already man
Massive thank you to everyone who has been part of the journey so far. I love and appreciate you all. Griddy 4 Life π
Last summer, I made the highly questionable decision to quit my dream job at @SleeperHQ to try and launch an app
I have no idea how to code
I didn't have cofounders or a team
All I had was an idea for a fantasy football drafting game that I really believed people would love
