THE PHOTO-OP MINISTER
Meet the guy hijacking a real cause — and the lobbyist cashing in with him
By Mike Arnold
Two men are currently selling Biafra in Washington.
The first calls himself Ogechukwu Nkere, Prime Minister of the Biafra Republic Government in Exile. The second is Elias Gerasoulis, a 29-year-old registered foreign agent whose Washington firm takes a monthly retainer to open doors for him.
Biafra is real. The grievance is real. The 1967-70 slaughter is real. Millions of Biafrans have a legitimate claim to be heard. What's NOT real: this man's authority to speak for any of them. He isn't a prime minister. He isn't even the name he signs. And the operation behind him isn't a government — it's a con riding on the back of real suffering, with a DC hype man on payroll.
I don't pick fights. I give people the benefit of the doubt until they burn through it. These two burned through mine a long time ago.
On June 27, after another round of attacks from accounts in Nkere's orbit, I messaged Gerasoulis on WhatsApp and asked point blank why his client seemed dead-set on picking a fight with me. I told him I'd stayed out of the infighting on purpose, that it serves no good end — but that I would not stay silent while they maliciously defamed me. I told him they'd been deceptively editing videos of me to twist what I'm saying, and that it gave me plenty of ammunition to go nuclear on them. I said I was holding back for the good of the cause they claim to serve.
His entire response: "I will reach out and speak with my client. No worries."
That was fair warning. Nothing changed. The unprovoked and unwarranted attacks have not stopped. Enough is enough. Here's the truth:
The name game. Nkere signs everything — federal filings, congressional letters, all of it — as "Ogechukwu Nkere." That's not his name. He is Isaiah Harrison Anyaogu, of Baltimore, Maryland. No legal name change on file anywhere that I can find. Fun fact: "Ogechukwu" is traditionally a girl's name.
Fired, then cloned the website anyway. BRGIE's own governing council booted him in July 2025 — their words — for unauthorized alteration of Maryland registration documents "with the intention of transforming the government into his personal organization." His response? Stand up a near-identical copy of their website and keep calling himself Acting Prime Minister. Their notice said he was "misleading Biafrans and the world, and collecting money from uninformed public."
"Elected" by nobody you can name. January 2026: he claims his own circle voted him Prime Minister, reportedly 50-0. Cute. No published list of the 50 has ever surfaced. A rival faction's Deputy PM called him an impostor the next day and said, on record, that he's "a documented criminal convict in the United States" with a history of alcohol offenses.
She wasn't wrong. I checked Maryland's public court records myself. Three convictions, all alcohol-related, inside 26 months: DUI (2007 offense, guilty plea June 2008, one year jail with eight months suspended); alcohol-beverage/intoxication-endangerment (May 2009 offense, found guilty that August after roughly a month in custody on a bench warrant); and a second DUI (July 2009 offense, guilty plea that September, one month jail). No domestic violence conviction turned up. But two DUIs and a public-intoxication conviction is a real record, and he's never once had to answer for it while calling himself a head of government. This was all from a search of just one jurisdiction. There may be more.
Day job: fixes bumpers. He owns an auto body shop in Baltimore, in business since 2009. The shop's own advertising promises to waive customers' insurance deductibles, which Maryland generally treats as insurance fraud, since the shop makes up the difference by padding what it bills the insurer. At least one customer review alleges the shop reported mechanical damage to an insurer that the customer says never existed.
He also has a documented habit of making creditors chase him. GEICO won an $8,087 judgment in 2012 and never collected a dime — it expired unsatisfied in 2024. Another creditor spent nearly three years and a stack of garnishment writs against his bank accounts, his wages, and his stake in the body shop to collect $14,048.
The money. His "government" is registered with the IRS as a 501(c)(3) — classified, incredibly, under "Humanities" — operating out of a Baltimore address. Its filings show revenue in the $650,000 range for a single recent year and zero assets. Where'd it go? No schools. No clinics. No grant list. No named beneficiary anywhere in the filing.
Meanwhile, real investigative reporters — HumAngle and the Institute for War and Peace Reporting — actually sat in on BRGIE's weekly Zoom fundraisers in 2024 and documented roughly $109,000 raised from donors in 43 countries. The stated purpose wasn't schools. It was funding the group's armed wing. And Nkere is named in that reporting: as Finance Minister, before he crowned himself PM, he personally opened one call with a $1,000 donation and got cheered for it.
The current site still runs an "IOU" program: lend money now, collect 100% interest "when freedom is restored and Biafra government is fully established in the homeland." No timeline. No collateral. No authority to make this promise. Nobody on earth positioned to make good on it.
Enter the lobbyist. Elias Gerasoulis, born 1996, founder and CEO of Washington & Madison, LLC, describes himself on X as an "International businessman, lobbyist, & revolutionary. International Freedom Fighter." That's an unusual flex for a registered foreign agent. His entire domestic lobbying disclosure history is a single client, once, back in 2018. His foreign-agent client list is where it gets interesting: Nkere's outfit, an Ambazonian separatist vehicle, and an Eritrean opposition front. Three separatist movements. Zero recognized by any government on earth. Every one of them fractured by an internal leadership war.
Don't take my word for what he's selling. Here's the scope of work he swore to the Justice Department, under penalty of perjury, on his Ambazonia filing: he will "support Foreign Principal's objective to establish an Ambazonian Shadow Government with whom the US government can reliably engage and negotiate." That's the product. Manufacture a government, then sell Washington on talking to it.
The same filings show him writing checks while he registered: $2,000 to Mast for Congress on December 15, 2025, and $1,000 to a political fund a week later — disclosed on his own sworn forms, in the exact window he was signing up these clients. Legal. Also exactly how the meetings happen.
The Ambazonian council he signed at his previous firm had its leader arrested in Norway in September 2024 on incitement charges — weeks before Simon Ekpa, BRGIE's previous (most say current) Prime Minister, was arrested in Finland. Ekpa got six years. Gerasoulis shows up right when the strongman goes down and signs whoever grabs the empty chair.
Now search the record for what any of it produced. Not one piece of legislation. Not one sanction. Not one policy change. What you find is meetings, photos, and press releases.
The "Congress" con. BRGIE brags about a "historic Congressional Briefing." It was an empty room booked in a House office building. No committee. No hearing. No congressional record. They also brag about "congressional testimony" to a human rights commission. What that actually was: a written statement submitted after the hearing already happened. Literally anyone can email that in.
The whole playbook. Take pictures in hallways with as many officials as possible. Keep them handy. When one of those officials eventually does something newsworthy, post the picture and take the credit. Book an empty room, stand at a podium, call it a hearing. Then use fake accounts to attack anyone who asks what was actually accomplished, and brand them an agent of the enemy.
That's the product. And according to Africa Confidential — reporting carried by ThisDay, Arise News and Hallmark — BRGIE is paying Washington & Madison $66,000 a month for it.
Check the calendar on that. Nigeria prepaid DCI Group $4.5 million on December 12, 2025, and formally signed its $750,000-a-month contract on December 17. Nkere signed his deal with Washington & Madison on December 22 — five days later. Abuja opened the checkbook and the "government in exile" opened one right behind it. Where did the money come from?
Now here's where it gets personal.
In April, I gave a congressional briefing. Afterward a crowd formed for photos — a dozen people, maybe more, in the space of a couple of minutes. He was one of them. I really didn't know who he was at the time. Just a face in a line.
While I was in town, Gerasoulis asked for an actual meeting. We took it — lunch, me, my producer Jeff Gibbs, and the two of them. That's the one real conversation that ever happened between us. Here's what he used it for: not advocating for the cause, not educating me about the persecution, not one word about actual Biafrans. Rather, Nkere spent the entire lunch trying to get me to relay a message to Nnamdi Kanu — that when Kanu gets out, he should submit to Nkere, because Nkere's the one in charge now.
Soon after, the outfit's "minister of information" posted the hallway pic and said that Nkere had "made him (me, that is) know more about Biafra & why Nigeria breakup is inevitable." A total fabrication.
I responded once, publicly, without naming anyone: "Anyone can take pictures in the hall of the Capitol. The question is, what was accomplished?"
That's when the swarm arrived. Accounts with 1, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8, 9 followers. Generic avatars or none. Many of them Igbo-sounding names with handles that didn't match. Same insults, same talking points, arriving together at the same time. They haven't stopped.
Since we're doing credentials. My Igbo name — Eze Okechukwunenye — isn't something I claimed. It was given to me, by Igbo people in Nigeria, years ago. I carry it as an honor, not a costume for a photo-op.
I've been personally endorsed by Nnamdi Kanu and by Igbo Leaders of Thought. I keynoted the IPOB North America Biafran Memorial Day gathering in Los Angeles this year, and an Igbo conference in Hamburg last month. Frank Gaffney and Senator Sam Brownback have both said my October 14 press conference directly influenced Trump's decision to strike terrorist targets in Nigeria. My congressional briefings happen in rooms with actual members of Congress in them, and they go viral.
The kicker. These same accounts call me a Nigerian government agent — some of them say I work for the Caliphate. Meanwhile, I am the single most-targeted individual on Nigeria's own $9-million-a-year Washington lobbying account, named even more often than Rep. Riley Moore. The Sultan of Sokoto's office has attacked me by name in a public statement. Gumi, too, many times. If that's what a Nigerian asset looks like, it's the worst deep cover in history.
I've done more to advance the cause these guys claim to represent than they have with all of that money. So here's the only question that actually matters, and I'd like an answer: where is the money going?
Bottom line: Biafra deserves better than this. The cause is real. The suffering is real. What's fake is the man claiming to represent it — and the lobbyist pocketing a reported $66,000 a month to help him do it.
I didn't start this. I'm finishing it.

@Eddyballer1@Arthur69z@alexottiofr You're very stupid! Show me any chapter or section of the Nigeria constitution that to prohibit the waving of Biafra flag or painting of cars in a Biafra flag colors?
@AloyEjimakor Biafra is the only solution. Nnamdi Kanu has seen the level of sponsored conspiracies by FG and its partners against the Igbo race and Hausa people which was why he's fighting to liberate Ndigbo and other ethnicities. CCA revealed the plot against Igbo. It's now obvious
@MikeArnoldTruth As he hid the truth so shall truth destroy him. The blood of the innocents which were shade and in which he was bribed to cover up,shall hunt him down alongside those who paid him to do so
@0ivankaTrump1 No ma! I like you as person but you're not fit to rules America at this time. @USA is the only bridge between the civilized countries and the radicals. We need strongmen to rule America to be able to stop those blood tasty countries.
@sowore Well in as much as I hold you in high esteem,I do not agree with you when it comes to politics but activism? I am with you 100%
The only way you can boast your chances of winning as Governor, senator,or president is by teaming up with major political players, give them your votes.
@EmekaGift100 You're such a double edged sword. The same you that criticizes Ekpa is now,saw nothing good from him,has suddenly become emotionally attached to him?
@sowore@alexottiofr You're the father of political scam in Nigeria- not intended to win any elections but to raise funds from your brainwashed supporters to keep your carrier going.
