@Chad__15@bigfan_24 Gateway is an independently owned track without a partnership with nascar. Same with Milwaukee. The point I’m trying to make is everyone wants all these ovals back on the calendar but they have financial obligations to prioritize nascar.
@Chad__15 Arlington and St Pete had about 80k-100k plus attendance across the three day weekend. I know the racing isn’t as good as ovals but the fans show up for those more than the other ovals. That’s because the venues are unique to Indy without an obligation to nascar.
@bigfan_24@Chad__15 But when it comes down to it it’s all about money and Indycar doesn’t bring enough to the table for these tracks to put in all the money it takes to promote/host an event that historically brings in half of what nascar does. We can’t just force these tracks to open their gates.
@Chad__15 And that’s because nascar is partnered with almost every oval fans mention they want to go back to. Nascar had 60k at gateway last year. Indy had about 35k last night. It’s nowhere near where it needs to be to have as many ovals as fans want.
@InBrohmWeTrust Woke up and tweeted about Kentucky. Has the scores of 2 of the 3 games they’ve won in the last decade in his twitter name. If this isn’t rent free, idk what is.
