A cutting reflection from Cardinal Ratzinger, Good Friday 2005:

"Pilate is not utterly evil. He knows that the condemned man is innocent, and he looks for a way to free him. But his heart is divided. And in the end he lets his own position, his own self-interest, prevail over what is right.

Nor are the men who are shouting and demanding the death of Jesus utterly evil. Many of them, on the day of Pentecost, will feel "cut to the heart," when Peter will say to them: "Jesus of Nazareth, a man attested to you by God... you crucified and killed by the hands of those outside the law."

But at that moment they are caught up in the crowd. They are shouting because everyone else is shouting, and they are shouting the same thing that everyone else is shouting. And in this way, justice is trampled underfoot by weakness, cowardice and fear of the diktat of the ruling mindset. The quiet voice of conscience is drowned out by the cries of the crowd.

I talked with Lara Trump today about social media stories on machines in Texas flipping votes from Trump to Harris. There were actually no errors to correct once we investigated those few cases. In Tarrant County, we have only had one person say their vote was flipped out of 591,885 votes cast to date.

Here is the state data:

As of today, there have been less than ten allegations of vote flipping out of nearly 7 million votes cast across the state. There has NOT BEEN A SINGLE confirmation that it actually happened.

A little history:

The Senate passed a strong voter integrity bill in 2021, despite Democrats breaking quorum in the House and fleeing to Washington, D.C. Our goal was to make voting easier while simultaneously making it harder to cheat.

There may always be someone trying to cheat, but we are doing all we can to prevent that. As for Democrats and media who continue to say we make it harder to vote, that's simply not true. It's just the opposite.

Texas has nearly doubled voter turnout in presidential elections since 2012, when we passed photo voter ID to vote in 2011. I was one of the authors of that bill as a Senator. The turnout in gubernatorial non-presidential year elections that Gov. Abbott and I run in have also doubled during that span. We may set a new voter turnout record this year based on the early vote so far.

We will keep a watchful eye on our elections. If you see anything concerning, call the Secretary of State office overseeing our elections.
