Pretty cool moment today—my friend Norma found my name at the National Military Monument in DC and sent me a picture.
Stuff like this means more as I get older. I appreciate the memories, the people I served with, and what that chapter of my life meant.
Pretty humbling. 🇺🇸
It started as a way to annoy a coworker who thought bow ties were hideous. Somehow, it grew into a campus-wide tradition with staff & students joining in. Kids even wore bow ties for “Dress Like a Teacher Day.” Little things build relationships & culture & go a long way.
A mentor once told me, “A principal earns all their paychecks in the first & last month of school.” I’ve found that to be true. McRaven said, “When in doubt, overload.” In the Army, that meant one thing. As a principal, it means work harder, carry the load & open doors for others
First day of school at CVE is in the books! So great to see our halls full of students again; smiles, excitement, & new beginnings. Big thanks to the CVE team for all the hard work behind the scenes to make today a success. Proud of this team & excited for the year ahead!
There’s something about a school building in the summer, it’s quiet & almost doesn’t feel like a school.
Then Meet the Teacher happens, & suddenly, CVE comes back to life!
The smiles, laughter, families, & especially our kids reminded me why this job is so special.
A new day. A fresh start. Another opportunity to lead, learn, serve, and make a difference.
Feeling especially grateful this morning for the people, the purpose, and the opportunity to do work that matters.
Here’s to starting the day with gratitude.
Our CVE team spent today growing through Conscious Discipline training. This work goes beyond behavior management it’s about building relationships, creating safe learning environments, & helping every student feel seen, valued, & connected.
Great learning today with @MrSilverman116 during Looking Below the Surface: Seeing PreK Through a Developmental Leadership Lens. After 10 years as a secondary administrator, I was reminded that PreK isn’t “just the beginning”—it’s the “load-bearing wall of the educational house.”
What a way to kick off the 2026–27 school year! 🎉
The #CiboloValleyElementary team left #SCUC Convocation inspired, energized, and ready to make this our best year yet. We can’t wait to welcome our Tigers and make it an unforgettable year! 🐯📚 #WeAreSCUC#RootedInPurpose

One of the best parts of being a principal is welcoming new educators to our school. Today we welcomed our newest teachers to Cibolo Valley ES. I’m excited to learn from them, support them, & watch the incredible impact they’ll have on our students this year.
This morning we officially kicked off the 2026–2027 school year by welcoming educators who are new to the district during Inspire Academy. New teachers connected with their campus leaders & colleagues while learning more about the people, purpose & partnerships that shape us.
Back at @ESCRegion20 today for professional learning for the first time in years. It’s a good reminder that no matter how long you’ve been in education, there’s always something new to learn. Looking forward to bringing new ideas back to Cibolo Valley Elementary!
If you, or someone you know, is looking for a great place to work, we’d love to have you at Cibolo Valley Elementary!

Excited to be back home in Texas & begin this new chapter @SCUCISD! Today we hit the ground running with a deep dive into student data to better understand our students, guide instruction, & help every child succeed. Looking forward to an incredible year serving this community!
Proud of what we accomplished at Bandon High School & grateful for the part I got to play in helping bring home the OSAA Cup for just the 2nd time in school history. The 🏆 recognizes excellence in academics, activities, athletics, & sportsmanship
Happy Father’s Day! I’ve been blessed to hold many titles, Sergeant, Doctor, Principal, & others. Each has been an incredible honor and has shaped who I am. Of all the titles I’ve ever had, “Dad” has always been my favorite & the highest honor of them all.
