One cooked at 900° aka burnt to a crisp in just 1 hour…
The other cooked to perfection at 300° over 3 hours.
Yes, one took 3 times as long as the other. But the question is, which one will be the most enjoyable once its ready to eat?
The answer is obvious. But there is a solid takeaway here…
Growth isn’t about quick cash, unrealistic expectations or rushing things and expecting extraordinary results.
In a culture that pushes working 16 hour days, speed, hustle, the most important skill is often forgotten… patience, consistency and discipline.

Another great example of how NOT to do PR.
Bravo, @Astronomer for yet another public misstep. Going viral is not the same as building trust. Going viral is a temporary win. Maintaining a long-term captive audience is the real victory.
While virality builds brand awareness, brand awareness isn’t a KPI you want to be measuring if the association is built on something this messy.
They say no publicity is bad publicity, but we aren't talking about a response to a bad review or social media gone wrong. This was a deeply personal scandal involving your senior leadership. Senior leadership you choose to represent your company, your brand, and your values.
Bringing in an a-list celebrity like Gwyneth Paltrow for some cheeky PR Cameos won't solve the larger issues at play here. It won't repair your image, or your culture, or your team's perception of what happened.
Real people work at Astronomer.
Real people's lives were disrupted.
Real families torn apart.
And a real opportunity to leverage the power of transparency and accountability to repair and build trust with the Astronomer team and their customers was missed.
This was your chance for an overhaul. A soft re-launch with a fresh start and with the whole world watching. A chance to take a step back and evaluate your culture, your team, and how you want to be known as a brand. If they wanted to be known as the company with the kiss cam CEO, then bravo, they have succeeded.
Kudos to Astronomer for entirely missing the point... again.
How do you feel about this PR stunt?

I think in this case I would leave both reviews up for the long haul. Sometimes the negative reviews are an opportunity to tell a story that a positive review could never tell.

Be careful who you hire.
Be careful who you keep on your team.
Be careful which clients you partner with.
Be careful which vendors you onboard.
Toxic is toxic. Just like mold infects even the healthiest of fruits, bad attitudes, bad habbits, and low energy is also infectious.
The wrong team members can bring down your best ones. If I could give one piece of advice, it’s to be careful who you allow around your team.
More often than not, even the best companies have some internal rot. It’s important to remove that energy from your business quickly before it spreads.
Be careful out there.
Another epic charity event with Moonrise Next Gen! We partnered with Toys4Dogs to make homemade dog toys for shelter pups. We collected donations, raised money and helped bring awareness to this awesome charity.

Done is better than perfect.
Launch the thing. Fix it along the way.
