I haven’t engaged much recently but I’ve been following and reading and I think that’s currently taking up time, energy and focus best given to my church family at @hopevauxhall. Twitter is a sad place at times like these. So (at least) for the time being I’m saying goodbye 👋
We brought together leaders from three London churches - separated by only a couple of miles but located in very distinct settings - to learn from their experiences.

...When I assume it is the place for healthy dialogue/discussion I am placing ‘Christian’ twitter in a position it cannot & should not hold. I think that’s something I’ve learned and humbly encourage others to consider. Though even doing that is beyond my remit.
Over and out.

One thing... Twitter is not my church. On Twitter I am not a pastor accountable to members or a member accountable to the church. I’m not really sure what Twitter is. But when I treat it as a church, assuming that I can ‘teach’ or pastor on here then I’m making a big mistake...
PASTORS IN A PANDEMIC
{A thread}
Everyone has had a truly difficult year and the past 12 months have been brutal, refining and unpredictable. From my perspective, I’ve seen how it’s affected pastors emotionally, mentally and professionally.
Last summer we employed Casey but it clearly was just the wrong time for her and she left us. However, her support worker recently got in touch to ask if we’d consider giving her another go. We happily said ‘yes’ and today - she’s back at the Roastery.
Welcome back Casey! ☕️🙌
COFFEE + FREEDOM = MANUMIT:

@revandyprime ...and Philippians 1:21 - To live is Christ, to die is gain! this verse equipped the church family here for unexpected death. I could preach on that verse week after week.
@revandyprime Psalm 27:8, My heart says of you, “seek his face!”, your face Lord I will seek, Psalm 11:1 'In the LORD I take refuge. How then can you say to me: "Flee like a bird to your mountain." Genesis 50:20 (just preached this to end our Genesis series)...
Time to preach the gospel!
But I consider my life of no value to myself; my purpose is to finish my course and the ministry I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify to the gospel of God’s grace.

Joy to pray with @hopevauxhall fam for Imperial CU, @CC_Mayfair, The NHS, those out of work, homeschooling parents & @OpenDoorsUK. An amazing privilege to have an Eritrean refugee, formerly a persecuted Christian herself, now a member of Hope, pray for the persecuted church 🙌❤️
Real apologetics is not a punchline, sad story, list of facts & stats, pretty words, a time you dunked on a celebrity, or some world class speaker who’s written bestsellers. Real apologetics is doing real life with another person, which many Christians find too uncomfortable. 12/
