Designed hardware for a Harness Detection System — flags wiring faults via LED indicators across hundreds of connections.
4 PCBs in KiCad: schematic capture→layout→3D verification. First hardware project, steep learning curve on power design and ESD protection.

Working on multi-axis motor control, I found that atoi() is most useful for parsing numbers from UART command strings. Simple, but note that it returns 0 on invalid input, so use strtol() when errors matter. Code: https://t.co/ojGQCatvMm #Embedded#CProgramming#MotorControl

Counting set bits looks trivial, but it’s everywhere in firmware: status flags, interrupt masks, and parity checks.
I wrote a small C routine for 32-bit arrays using fixed-width types and unsigned masks, verified on a PC first.

Stop decoding STM32 status registers bit by bit. This small C function prints only the set flags by name, using a char pointer array indexed by bit position. Example output: TC TXE. Handy for debugging USART and other peripherals. #STM32
STM32G431CBU6 has no onboard USB-UART bridge like a Nucleo. SWD flashes fine, but UART had nowhere to go.
Fix: swapped the wire for an HC-05 Bluetooth module. Same UART code, zero changes.
UART is a protocol, not a wire.
