At the risk of being a killjoy, I find the eruptions of joy in Muslim countries over World Cup qualification to be pathetic.

Ok, I wouldn't mind it in peacetime but when the Ummah is literally on fire it is deeply inappropriate.

How can winning football matches move you at all these days when Gaza is suffering genocide, Masjid Al Aqsa is at risk, and the forces of evil are rampant?
