New figures revealed that a staggering 358 Italian villages recorded no births in 2023, signaling a demographic meltdown that’s shrinking the nation’s population and threatening its future.

Birth rates hit a record low of 379,000 in 2023, with Italy’s population projected to drop by 5 million by 2050.
