It was so hard to hear those two little girls in the documentary (age 7 and 9) say that they’ve never seen black people in Disney movies. This shows how low diversity and racial representation is and how white supremacy is skillfully integrated into child media #lesson11
Disney has always portrayed women to be highly sexualized and it’s unfortunate that adults are showing these to kids. This is where their brains develop and see the world in the way they see tv. It becomes a schema and is very hard to change #lesson11
I really enjoyed the video on feminism. I feel like there’s such a strong misconception on what it means. People are so ignorant and don’t take the time to actually search the things they talk about. So I’m glad they defined it #lesson10
It’s so unfortunate that we live in a generation where we trade all our personal data for convenience. Whether it’s social media, online shopping, online searching, your purchasing history, they all essentially link back to you like a test subject to keep tabs on you #lesson9
@MGiaccari I hate mcqs, you either get the whole point or none and I don’t think that’s adequate. I prefer development questions because it always you to explain and sometimes the answer you pick CAN be validated based on your arguments
@sarawilkes11 In my area they have a yearly pick-up date at the public library where you can dispose of batteries, computers, printers, paints, anything that cannot be dumped in the wilderness or the landfills due to toxicity
@ftheo_educ307 I honestly wasn’t that shocked since I’ve seen my younger siblings screen time and it’s almost double or triple mines. However I feel like there should be restraints on it because it’s really clouding kids and their attention span
I think it’s very important to discuss how mesosystem are very powerful and impactful. They link schools, profs and students. But it also links parents with their students. Applying ICT should be applied step by step #lesson7
@NanaKor23317759 I agree with you 100%. We apply the material we learn. There’s no complex over-the-top questions. It makes me feel good as a student that I can excel at the concepts I actually learned!
