We are on the front cover of Science! Our new paper shows how much of the Amazon has already been affected by human disturbances (climate change, fire, logging and edge effects) and its social, economical and ecological impacts 👇
The first paper of my PhD just got published: "Drought effects on root and shoot traits and their decomposability"

Thank you @NickOstle1, @Jen1Whitaker and @JMBecologist and everyone who helped!
Logging of tropical forests causes carbon from dead and damaged trees to be emitted, but the remaining trees grow rapidly and so post-logging forests are expected to be carbon sinks. 1/
Our new paper from Malaysian Borneo shows that logged tropical forests may act as net carbon sources for decades after logging.
