Re affordability. Prices at Costco have risen steadily all year long for basically every grocery item. Coffee is up dramatically. Beef too. Pork is mostly level. But milk is up, pantry items are up, condiments like mustard are up. Costco's excellent prices on cheese are up. Paper towels and toilet paper are up.
And Costco runs on razor thin margins and works very hard to control prices. So if they are raising prices it reflects their costs. Perhaps some of the inflation is regional, and the people claiming they don't see any price increases just live in a fortunate place. But I doubt it. Better to face the reality than deny what's going on.

"The problem with writing with A.I. is that it’s mentally enfeebling...
What, uniquely, does writing do? ... It compels thinking in ways that silent contemplation or spoken language rarely can."
Back from Europe and auditing everything in my cabinet. Why can you eat and drink with almost no restraint over there, never bloat, never gain an ounce, and actually come home lighter? In America staying the same size is a full time job.
And why does one lenient weekend here erase a week of work? Before anyone says Europeans walk more, so do New Yorkers. That isn’t the answer. It would be nice to eat food here without exhaustive auditing one day.
Exactly. Same thing with me. Enjoyed daily wine and bread and came back lighter. When I’m eating “clean” here and working out, I feel like I’m not going backwards but also not progressing as much. Staying the same weight or even seeing the scale up a couple days after one dinner where I wasn’t counting every single micro is tiring. I just wanna relax and live a little and not worry
