@liamkenwright91 Give me a shout mate it won’t let me reply

[Sammy McCaw @SammyMccaw]

@BanditBus I can do this mate

[Paul Embery @PaulEmbery]

I think this is a serious mistake by Bryant. I have no particular affinity for the Orange Order. And I appreciate the history and sensitivities of the Drumcree dispute. But the Orangemen made the application in the correct way and secured a lawful determination to hold a much-scaled-back parade. Opponents, including the first minister, then blocked the road (and thereby the parade) unlawfully. And Bryant has given in to them. How is Bryant now going to convince unionists that the rule of law and constitutional politics still point the way forward for Northern Ireland? This has opened a huge can of worms.

[Jonny Harvey @jonnyharvey11]

It seems to me the only escalation outside of Garvaghy Road is coming from Republicanism. Law breaking, busing people in from all over the place and now a ransom note to all Orange parades. Pretty sickening evidence of the New Ireland they want us to sign up to. 🤷🏻‍♂️

[Sammy Heenan @SammyHeenan]

Singing "my old man's a Provo" from the stage on Garvaghy Road is absolutely disgusting.
This is the community supposedly living in fear.
Yet, they appear happy enough to celebrate an organisation which murdered the innocent and created genuine fear throughout our country.

[Sammy McCaw @SammyMccaw]

So I get people don’t want a parade because it may bring back trauma so is these same people against eulogising terrorism that also caused enormous trauma or is it only one way?

[Máiría Cahill @cahillbooks]

This is very unhelpful I am sure, to the Garvaghy Road residents. Why is nobody telling these people to clear off?

My Old Man's a Provo....

[Moore Holmes @mooreholmes24]

A few truths people need to hear dispelling some common falsehoods about Drumcree stand-off:

1) Garvaghy Residents are not living in fear. It is a bogus myth used to cultivate the perception of victimhood. It is not fear that drives them, but hatred of another’s culture and identity. If anything, Sinn Fein are living in fear of Brendan McKenna who is calling the shots. No threat exists from the Orange who have adhered to the law without exception for the past 28 years.

2) The lawful Orange procession is not a sectarian march. It is an expression of faith and culture. It is a church parade that has been walked for generations, along this historic and traditional route. A silent walk by few dozen of your neighbours, who just happen to be wearing collarettes, isn’t triumphalism or supremacism. The illegal roadblock however is purposefully intended to diminish the rights of others simply because they are Protestant. That’s what sectarianism looks like.

3) If anyone is dragging things backwards, it is nationalists. The “No Going Back” message is popularised simply because of its implication - suggesting Unionists want to drag things back to the past. They don’t - and nothing about their actual behaviour or language suggests that. Those who appear to use the language and conduct of the past are within republicanism. Branding a persons culture and identity sectarian simply for existing? Threatening peace if you don’t get your way? Illegally blocking roads? It’s all happening by the same people saying “No Going Back.” For years republicans have claimed they used to be second class citizens, but by their actions, they are denying the human rights of others by breaking the law.

4) Most people involved in the demonstrations are not even from Garvaghy Road.

5) The Orange have been nothing but peaceful, dignified and respectful. They have not sought to disregard the rights and concerns of residents, and have fully complied with everything asked of them by the legal authorities. They only seek to complete their historic church parade, which has been walked by their forefathers, but denied to them for the past 28 years.

[Paul Embery @PaulEmbery]

Whatever you think of the merits of her actions, O'Neill's position as first minister is surely untenable. How can you have a first minister who openly backs unlawful action designed to block the implementation of decisions made by statutory bodies, the police and the courts?

[Sammy McCaw @SammyMccaw]

@SimonCatRiley And they told us the IRA had went away 🙈🙈🤣🤣 who actually believed it

[Paul Embery @PaulEmbery]

I recognise that there are major sensitivities here, but the optics of a first minister taking part in an unlawful protest in contravention of a determination by the Parades Commission and the wishes of her own police service are pretty appalling. How can a first minister just opt out of abiding by the decisions and orders of her own state agencies in this way?

[GB News @GBNEWS]

‘This is Northern Ireland, on the international stage, looking very silly.’

GB News’ Northern Ireland Reporter Dougie Beattie explains why an Orange Order march is sparking protest fears on the Garvaghy Road, adding ‘it is madness.’

[Moore Holmes @mooreholmes24]

Serious questions now arise over whether First Minister Michelle O’Neill’s conduct is compatible with the standards expected of an MLA and respect for the rule of law. Inciting and encouraging people to block roads would put her in direct violation of her professional and legal responsibilities.

She is entitled to disagree with a Parades Commission determination. But encouraging or enabling the physical obstruction of a lawful procession is an entirely different matter.

The Parades Commission has issued a legally binding determination. The rule of law must apply equally to everyone, including those who profoundly disagree with its outcome.

Sinn Féin cannot demand compliance with lawful determinations when they agree with them and disregard their authority when they do not.

[Moore Holmes @mooreholmes24]

Everyone must be equal under the law, but Sinn Fein think they are above it. It cannot be one rule for republicans and another for everyone else. The rule of law is a fundamental cornerstone of our democracy. You cannot pick and choose when it does or does not apply. Huge test of law and order in Northern Ireland today.

‘Sinn Fein aren’t using the Irish language as a political football

Is that right mate aye?

[Peadar Tóibín TD @Toibin1]

Sinn Féin voted against their own Cost of Living amendment in the Dáil this week.

It took Aontú to explain their mistake and save their blushes.

[Sarah White @sarahwhitetruth]

I’ve spent a lot of time recently in Northern Ireland, and the patriotism here is something else.

Watching the bands today of the apprentice boys in Ballymoney was incredibly moving, every beat of the drum carried pride, passion, and a deep sense of loyalty. Loyalty to their culture, their heritage, their history, and to this great land.

You can feel it in the atmosphere, in the people, in the way they stand and represent who they are.

It makes you think… England could learn a lot from the men and women of Ulster.

🚨 Vincent Kompany: “We have to prepare for the best version of Real Madrid, the one that played against Man City”.

“They're still one of the best teams in Europe”.

[Sammy McCaw @SammyMccaw]

Jim Ratcliffe, Omar Berrada, Jason Wilcox, Christian Vivell what a right mess you have created. The least the fans deserve is transparency. Embarrassing

[Samuel Luckhurst @samuelluckhurst]

On Mainoo: he's not covered himself in glory when he's come on. #mufc went from 3-0 to 3-2 after he emerged vs Brighton and he's looked lackadaisical. But he's obviously been underused and it dates back to Amorim's first game at Ipswich, where he started Eriksen ahead of him.

[Sammy McCaw @SammyMccaw]

@DaytrippingRed Sadly a lack of leadership prevents it from changing anytime soon

[Sammy McCaw @SammyMccaw]

@DaytrippingRed The bonfire is in a part of Ireland that is ruled and governed by Britain.

Some British hate the Irish within it
Some Irish hate the British within it

Political statements regularly happen like your picture and the one below or campaigns like get the Brits out etc
