@AmaltheaGlass@flexgolden11 Because Kyler is going to be the starter unless he gets injured. And he should start getting the majority of 1st team reps. You can be as annoyed as you want about what is going to happen. I just want Kyler as ready as possible.
@DomClare I respect him for learning from 2 weeks ago and giving the PR answer. Even if he really wants out, giving a divisive answer would only hurt his chances of another team trading for him.
I’m sorry. This is a bullshit question to ask a guy who is actively giving it his all in a battle for his current team.
I don’t care my personal thoughts on him as a fan. This is b.s.
My equivalent to another sport would be comparing a basketball who only scored 20 points but had better playmaking/defensive production that led to their team winning to a guy who scored 30 points but was largely ineffective until their team was down 20 points entering the 4th quarter. I'll take the efficient 20 every time.
"The physical talent is there. He can make all the throws, he can create off schedule. And this is not a slight to anybody, but this offensive staff and Coach O'Connell, that's the untapped potential. He's gonna realize, I think, another level of development.”
- Vikings General Manager Nolan Teasley on QB Kyler Murray via @PAOnTheMic
In my opinion, most of Jacoby's stats are inflated from garbage time after the Cardinals were already out of the game. Kyler kept them in every game he started, and the offense produced better overall with him at the helm in terms of impacting winning their games. I understand the stats argument, but I believe largely that in his case the context of game flow inflated them substantially.
The options are Kyler, Jacoby, or a wash. Which combination of their unique talents that you're mentioning has created a better player in your opinion? I take not giving an answer as you avoiding answering it. I'm genuinely curious what your take is. If you decline to answer a 3rd, time I'll take it as you're choosing not to answer it directly.
@oldrustysailor@MikeLaflAURA 1. Do you think the amount of wins the teams had with each QB is also relevant context?
2. Which QB is better. Overall. Not depending on the situation the team/oline is in. Which QB do you believe is more talented. Kyler or Jacoby?
@oldrustysailor@MikeLaflAURA I disagree that raw stats means one player was better than the other. If that is the barometer you were using to compare the 2 though, then yes. I misunderstood the baseline of your argument.
@oldrustysailor@MikeLaflAURA You're conflating raw stats and production conducive to winning games into 1 concept. They're not. As evidenced by them winning more games with Kyler in 5 starts than Jacoby in 12. Do you have an argument against that?
Just a reminder to the JJM fans- we are paying a $35m receiver in his prime. When the Vikings made the decision to pay Jefferson, they also indirectly made a commitment to having a QB who could throw him the ball. In short, the Vikings don't have time to wait on JJMs development.
