Understandably, many of my neighbors and fellow Chicagoans are upset today. If you’re not happy with the administration and the people who supported them - vote. Elections have consequences and politicians should be accountable for prioritizing fealty over their constituents.
REVIEWED AND CONFIRMED!!!
Caleb Williams' game-winning TD is the FIRST throw this season to earn a +2 on the PFF Grade scale (the highest grade possible)
It is just the 31st throw in PFF history, including preseason and playoffs, to earn a +2
On November 1st, 2023, we hosted a very similar press conference after releasing the letter below which was supported by organizations across the Greater West Town community. At that press conference, we announced we would hold a meeting for Mayor Johnson to speak to residents of the 1st and 36th Ward about their concerns. Mayor Johnson declined to attend.
Deputy Mayor of Community Safety Garien Gatewood, who we were informed would attend in Johnson's stead, was suddenly unavailable the day of the meeting. Since then, our requests have gone unanswered by the Mayor's office, and largely unanswered by the leadership of the 1st Ward.
I don't know if I should be glad or frustrated to see Alderman La Spata is finally at least showing up to press conferences about public safety. Perhaps Alderman La Spata, who has supported, campaigned, and voted with Brandon Johnson, is better positioned to ask the Mayor to do more than simply ignore us. Only time will tell. But we need more than press conferences. We need results.
This morning the community and my colleague,@AldermanLaSpata and I held a press to demand a 12th District satellite office be opened asap! We have seen robberies increase and the community is demanding action. We need the @ChicagosMayor to partner with us.

I’m a proud Democrat and I don’t think all democrats are responsible for Brandon Johnson and the situation we’re in. However, I do think we need to make sure we’re holding CTU and Chicago DSA accountable. They played a significant role in pushing Johnson and they certainly deserve more scrutiny over their candidate choices and agenda.
This is incredibly disappointing. I was vocal about my concerns regarding Brandon Johnson during my campaign. But it just keeps getting even worse than I could have imagined.

Bear down: Chicago is finalizing a deal to hire Lions offensive coordinator Ben Johnson as its next head coach, sources tell ESPN. Bears are getting their man.
If you haven’t voted, there is still time! Elections can be decided by a thin margin, and have major consequences.
Please don’t let the rain stop you or think your vote doesn’t matter. It’s not just the presidential election that matters but elected positions like the cook county states attorney, judge retention, and the school board which are of critical importance to our county and city.
Get out there and have your voice be heard. As long as you are in line by 7:00 p.m., you are able to cast your ballot.
