A British company can take out a Facebook ad to sell a British product to a British consumer, and Facebook pretends to be in Ireland on that transaction. On Amazon, you can buy something from a British supplier from a British warehouse, and Amazon pretends to be in Luxembourg in that situation. That doesn't seem fair, and it strikes me as very strange that the government is okay with that.

Gary makes some decent points and some nonsensical points. God forbid a public debate happens on inequality and people can decide for themselves what makes sense

2050 1 in 3 Brits will be 65+, we’re actually in a population collapse
Major issue is gov ignoring housing and NHS for 15 years, not a short burst of population increase, which we actually need
In the USA you need to be earning 8x the average wage before you pay the top rate of tax. In the UK the top rate of tax kicks in at 3x the average wage.
The USA lets people become more successful before cutting them off at the knees. The UK shreds your ambition just as soon as you start getting going.
Net result, Brits earn 40% less than Americans on average. If England was a US state it would be poorer than Mississippi (the US’s poorest state).
The aggressive top rate of tax probably costs the UK £1.2Trillion of GDP annually (£3T economy + 40% uplift).
The Prime Minister should make a statement to Parliament, immediately, to confirm whether UK missiles have been fired into Russia.
He must tell the British public if this means we are now at war with a nuclear power, what risk this poses to people in Britain, and why this action was taken without any approval from Parliament.
I have consistently condemned Russia for its invasion of Ukraine and called for a diplomatic solution to stop the endless bloodshed.
As we edge closer and closer to catastrophe, we should be doing everything in our power to bring about de-escalation and peace. Instead, our political leaders have added fuel to the fire and gambled with people’s lives for political gain.
Presidents and Prime Ministers must know that in the event of nuclear war, nobody wins.
I’m not interested in bombs. I’m interested in peace – and I will continue to campaign for peace in Ukraine, Gaza, Yemen, Sudan, the DRC and beyond.
The Prime Minister of the UK should outline in explicit terms that everything is being done to prevent nuclear war. Starmer is absolutely crazy.
No one wakes up and thinks thank god I didn’t get hit by a bus yesterday. Same thing should apply with Putin surely
🚨🌍🇺🇦 “Russia’s also threatened Nuclear escalation - are you comfortable with that, with people watching at home - knowing you could be putting us at risk?”
“Even if it unleashes Nuclear War?”
@MaajidNawaz let’s get an interview setup in London. A balanced conversation needs to be had on a delicate situation.
No gotcha questions. No legacy media agenda. Send me a DM.
The mad blind rivalry of the two political parties is snuffing out the soul of our nation.
This rivalry distracts us from our real problems—the $34 trillion dollar debt; the destructive merger of state and corporate power; our declining health; the epidemic of addiction; the growing war machine; widespread soil degradation; the fact that fifty-seven percent of Americans cannot put their hands on a thousand dollars during an emergency.
Instead of focusing on these critical issues, politicians direct our attention toward divisive culture war issues such as abortion, transgender athletes, gun control. We then discharge our anxiety and rage onto these issues, and especially those who hold opposing views on them. Thus distracted, the public offers little resistance to its ongoing robbery at the hands of elite corporate interests.
Step outside the culture war. Step outside the politics of hating the other side. Vote independent in 2024! #Kennedy24
