The State Department for Correctional Services has submitted the draft National Correctional Services Bill and the draft Correctional Services Policy for public and stakeholders’ review.

The development, in line with the public participation requirement of the Constitution, will allow members of the public and stakeholders to send their submissions and written memorandum.

The Draft Policy and Draft Bill are available on the State Department for Correctional Services website (https://t.co/ItWmwQhN1m).

Submissions and written memorandum can be sent via email: [email protected] to be received on or before the 26th of February 2025.

The Technical Committee on the Development of Legal and Policy Framework for Correctional Services in Kenya was appointed via Gazette Notice No. 5621 on 30th April 2024 by the Cabinet Secretary for Interior and National Administration.

State Department for Correctional Services Principal Secretary Dr. Salome Beacco has prioritized legal and policy reforms within the country’s correctional services as part of a broader agenda towards developing a correctional service of excellence.

Mashujaa Day Celebrations 2024

Today the Commissioner General of Prisons Mr.Patrick M.Aranduh,MBS attended a colorful pompous event as Kenya celebrated its Heroes and Heroines held at the newly built Kwale Stadium. The event was honored with the distinguished presence of H.E. Hon. William Samoei Ruto, PhD., C.G.H. President of the Republic of Kenya and Commander in Chief of the Defense Forces. Also present was the Principal Secretary State Department for Correctional Services, Ms Salome Beacco, CBS.
Boma Yangu” being this year’s annual theme, the President urged all to look up to the affordable housing project which aims to bring decent, sustainable, affordable homes while at the same time creating thousands of job opportunities and changing lives.

The celebrations ended with a prestigious luncheon at the County Commissioners Residence Kwale

Accompanying the CGP were senior officers from the Prisons Headquarters and officers from the Coastal Region.
