I suppose the post-war generation felt the same when we started teaching about the rise of Nazism etc whilst it was their lived experience. And that's where perhaps our generation need to recalibrate, the new generation need to learn from their past (our lives) and hopefully not repeat the same mistakes

So I would agree. Have a plan, it doesn't mean you ever use it.
Like a fire exit plan. We all know, we all hope to never use it. But it's remiss not to have it in place.

Not vetos, but a system designed to include them at all levels.

We can't sanitise it, disney-fy it, or give moral cover for it.
It needs to be warts and all backed by facts, and it's going to be very uncomfortable.

Why would any sport that attracts large crowds in stadia not fall under the same legislation. GAA, football, rugby, hockey, whatever.
If there is a law in place regarding the conduct of people attending mass sporting events it should apply across the board.
