1. The Prelude to the Battle:

After leaving Anandpur Sahib under false assurances from the Mughals and Pahadi Rajas, Guru Gobind Singh Ji and the Khalsa were ambushed at the Sarsa River.

The forces were scattered.

Guru Saheb, along with 40 Singhs and his two elder sons (Baba Ajit Singh Ji and Baba Jujhar Singh Ji), reached the mud fort at Chamkaur.
