📌 Median float → 13%

$AEVO is an outlier with a nearly fully emitted supply. The median float is therefore a better representation of the float of these new launches. This number was also ~13% 6 weeks ago when I first posted about this.

📌 Average FDV → ~$4b
📌 Median FDV → ~$1.7b

Takeaway here is that these coins launch at high valuations leaving limited upside for retail investors.

📌 Average price performance → +21%
📌 Median price performance → -17%

The price change is calculated from the first daily close till today. Had you bought all of these the first day, you'd be up 21%.

$ONDO is a big outlier with nearly 600% growth however and had you missed that, the average return would be -7%.

Median performance of -17% is quite poor considering:

• 3m → +8.2%
• 1m → +8.0%

📌 ETH price performance
• YTD → +64%
• 3m → +5.7%
• 1m → +20.5%

And there's obviously more risk holding new alts vs BTC/ETH/SOL.

General takeaway: Buying a basket of new and shiny alts has not been a very good strategy so far in 2024.

With a median float of 13%, there is a lot of supply overhang for most of these. I would therefore imagine that these continue to struggle against majors especially also with 50+ new tokens coming this year.
